Snow halting an early start. Might have a window to ride this afternoon… Let’s see.

But, seeing snow is cool (hint, hint.)

Most ADV riders avoid really getting out there - not because can’t ride, but because they don’t trust their ability to make the right decisions under pressure.

Our Desert Axis ADV Personal Development Rides focus on the gap between owning the ADV bike… and actually trusting yourself on it.

There is something deeply fulfilling about solo travel in harsh environments. And while I understand the appeal of sharing adventure with others, I also love the idea of experiencing things that cannot ever be shared. The photos don’t ever quite capture the moment, and the stories can’t really do it justice. You had to be there… and only I was.

But be prepared! No one “rises to the occasion.” We all simply fall to the level of our systems. That’s where most people get exposed.

Pay attention.
Make good decisions.
Take responsibility for your actions.

Leave every place better than you found it.
And leave nothing but your tracks behind… Remember even those are meant to fade.

When riding motorcycles in unfamiliar places, the most important consideration is safety gear. By that I don’t mean every single accessory known to man, but rather good quality basics.

The two things you have to spend good money on:
•Helmet
•Boots

And then I’d look at:
•Neck / Knee Braces (I always ride with mine)

Of course you can expand on this depending on the terrain you are exploring, but in my experience, everything else ends up packed a couple of days in, and not worn.

If you are serious about good quality gear, I suggest you consider

If you’ve spent any time around the adventure-moto world, you’ll know there’s a big difference between the people who love riding… and the people who genuinely understand the realities of the wilderness, the risks, and the demands of remote travel.

We built Desert Axis Adventures for people who want real adventure.
Those who prefer the less obvious routes.
Those who want to immerse themselves in the places they explore.
And those who want to do all of that with confidence, not dumb luck.
