Why a Honey Bird and a Honey Badger you ask? When the Kyani Team started brainstorming on which direction our business model should aim in, these two came to mind.
Kyani is a Boesman word meaning Honey Badger, where safari is a Swahili word taken from the Arabic, safar meaning ‘to journey’. If it’s your time to journey into the unknown; to seek out excitement and adventure, to walk amongst African plains, free-roaming animals and wild spaces, then let the Kyani 4x4 Iveco vehicle take you on a journey in luxury like no other.
The Honey Badger and the Honey Bird live in a symbiotic relationship. The Honey Bird finds the bee's nest, but is definitely too weak to break the comb apart. By tracking down a tough Honey Badger with poor eyesight, the bird ignites the badger's instinct to trust and follow. Without any hesitation, the badger will gladly do the dirty work of breaking the honeycomb apart for the both of them. Focusing on each other’s strengths, both the bird and the badger are rewarded beyond measure. In appreciation of the characteristics of these two fascinating creatures, the idea behind the brand of Kyani Tours & Safaris was born.
