The kind of sunsets you come to Namibia for๐
The golden rays glimmering through the brown autumn grass with the last rain clouds adorning the evening sky.
Crickets chirping, barking geckos calling a mate and the soft breeze infusing the air with the smell of Kalahari sour grass.

Dune climbing at Deadvlei.
Many a visitor to the valley of the dead trees in Namibia has had the urge to scale up the dunes that form the rim of the valley. It is a great test of fitness! There is the shallow dune rib (pictured above) that leads to the big daddy, which for a lot of people is already good enough. And the view you get is already great. From here it still goes up 2x the height to reach the top! ๐
If you go early, you can still climb barefoot, which is the best way.
Have you been all the way to the top?

Back to the roots at Camp Sossus by
Another gem for our booking office, Camp Sossus is a unique experience close to the Sossusvlei area. A rustic approach to lodging will have you showering in style from a water bucket (filled with hot water by the butler) and having wonderful guest surprise experiences that truly leave a mark on your stay here.
If you want to find out more, feel free to give us a shout by email or a phone call, we'll gladly help you out!

Far away, even further away than our own Guesthouse in Sesfontein, lies the settlement Puros. You are now in the Kaokoland! It is here where the underground water of the Hoarusib river rises to the surface due to very shallow bedrock. Water trickles from here down river.
Overlooking the dry riverbed still, there is a beautiful sanctuary called Okahirongo Elephant lodge. It is a stunning place that you would want to stay at for a few days and forget about the rest of the world.
To find out more about this lovely place, drop us an email and we will arrange a stay for you!

Namibian Frontier
Sesfontein, the gateway to the Kaokoland, is a small gem with a mix of cultural village experience and of truly wild animal encounters.
Our Guesthouse offers a lovely atmosphere that encompasses both. Book a sleepout to experience the wilderness that the Hoanib river has on offer. Another night at the guesthouse will give you a pleasant village experience.

Survivors
Oryx antelope, or Gemsbok, are incredible! They can go for long periods without having to drink water, making them the ideal animals to live in arid desert landscape.
This heard was hanging out at the Uniab river mouth in the far north of Namibia, inside the Skeleton Coast National Park.

Respite from the heat.
Visiting Sossusvlei is a must do experience in Namibia. Dead Valley and its ancient dead trees is a sight to behold. Maybe climbing the big daddy dune is also on the cards. But one thing is for sure, it is going to be warm or even hot. After a morning of activity, the Dead Valley lodge offers tranquil shade with open plan design.

At Taranga Safari Camp, it is easy just to relax at your tent and look over the Okavango river and see its slow movement eastwards.
For those that are keen for some interaction, the lounge is a perfect place to relax and sit down for a chat. Or even just to read a book.
