1. Namibia is home to the world's oldest desert.
This is made up of shifting sand dunes, gravel plains and rugged mountains. The Namib desert is the oldest desert, it has been around for at least 55million years.

2. Namibia has 30 languages that are spoken in the country.
More than 11 languages are native to Namibia but with its cosmopolitan culture, languages from all across the world are spoken in Namibia.

3. Namibia has some of the highest sand dunes.
The tallest being in the Sossusvlei region, called Big Daddy. However, Dune 7 is the highest sand dune. It is 388m long.

Namibia's Bogenfels is a place known for its unique rock formations in the coastal Namib Desert (hence the name, which means "arch rock" in German). Near the coast, a 55-meter (180-foot) high rock arch is the primary formation.Tourists were not allowed to visit the area for many years, due to the wealth of diamonds found in the surroundings. For the past five years or so controlled tourism has been practised here, and this part of the Namib Desert – known as the Sperrgebiet – is alive with colour, texture and intrigue.

What is found in Twyfelfontein?

The largest collection of rock art engravings in southern Africa may be seen in Twyfelfontein, which has been called a "open-air gallery." At Twyfelfontein, there are a few rock paintings and more than 2000 rock engravings. Along with ostrich, impala, elephant, and zebra, there are also over 200 giraffe and 100 rhinos on display.
