The Nedbank Desert Dash is happening this year!!!
Dear Nedbank Desert Dashers and cycling friends all over the world,
What an extraordinary year! From an organising perspective, we would certainly have been consumed with quite detailed planning to bring you an experience once more that will eclipse anything cycling-related that you’re ever likely to experience. Instead, Covid-19 threw us a very unexpected curveball, bringing great uncertainty on a global scale. But, with just over 200 days to go for this year’s edition of the Nedbank Desert Dash, and given the indications of a staggered relaxation of lockdown measures by our Namibian Government over the coming weeks and months, we are really excited to announce that the 2020 Nedbank Desert Dash is on track to take place once more. The Namibian Cycling Federation has been quite supportive in this respect, as well. So, our exciting news for you today is that registration will open as per usual in June! With no large sporting events permitted for the last two months and possible restrictions in various countries for some time to come, just the thought of getting ready for another crossing of our Namib Desert in December is undoubtedly quite enticing.
We fully recognise that travel restrictions, as well as the associated health warnings applied by various countries across the world, may yet impact travel plans and so we give you the absolute guarantee that we shall refund a 100% of your entry fee, in the event that: (1) we may be advised by our government not to proceed with hosting the 2020 edition of the Nedbank Desert Dash, or (2) your country’s Covid-19 regulations preclude you from travelling to Namibia at the time of the event.
Entries will open as indicated below, and in order to secure your spot, please do register and pay your entry fees in full.
Solo Riders (N$ 3300)

2 person team entries (N$ 5500)
15 June registration opens at 10h00
4 person team entries (N$ 11 000)
22 June registration opens at 10h00
Early bird team entries are again available (maximum 20 entries) with immediate effect, and should you be interested in securing one of these spots, please contact Johan Pretorius directly at [email protected]. Early bird entries for four-person teams cost N$ 22 000, with N$ 11 000 of the fee donated towards a deserving charity initiative.
