This year's rains have well and truly brought Namibia back to life, with lush green grass all across the country, flowers blooming, rivers flowing and waterholes overflowing.

It's an incredible time to explore Namibia and certainly offers an incredible contrast to our usually dry and arid landscapes.

Not your average oryx sighting.

This rainy season is giving all kinds of treats (and a few trials), but how special for our desert adapted species to enjoy an abundance of water and food for a change.

While the rains sometimes make life tricky for us humans to explore the country, they are certainly a welcome relief all round.

Namibia's green season is the perfect time for a little birdwatching and we were lucky to spot this wattled crane while exploring Khaudum National Park after a little rain. Listed as a vulnerable species, it's not something we get to see every day.

It's easy to forget that not everyone gets to experience the magic of the night's sky in all its glory when we get stars like this most nights in Namibia.

Sightings of shooting stars, the milky way, Venus and Mars are all possible with the naked eye just a few minutes out of (and sometimes from within) the capital city.

If you're keen to do some stargazing on your next safari then rest assured, Namibia won't disappoint!

What a week!

Gregory has been busy introducing the best of Namibia to the Asian market, starting in Beijing and now in Singapore at ITB Asia with our partners Only One Travel.

Meanwhile Jesse is busy spreading the word about Namibia and Lark Journeys to the US market in Miami at WTE Miami with Namibia Tourism Board.

It's a tough job but someone's got to do it!

When you wake up from your Sunday afternoon nap thinking the weekend is almost over...

We've got good news for this spotted hyena as tomorrow is a public holiday in Namibia as we commemorate Heroes Day.

Stops along the C35 road to meet the local communities are just another aspect of what makes a Namibian safari so fascinating.

At the Ugab Bridge, the local Herero women have set up their market stall where they make (with their classic Singer sewing machines) and sell their goods. Everything from bags to table runners to little doll replicas of themselves (which we think make for the best Namibian souvenir).

If you are planning a trip through Damaraland then a stop here is a MUST! The people are friendly, their items are well priced and if you spend a minute getting to know them you can leave with more than just a souvenir, but some amazing memories of the Namibian people.
