The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Zoological Park, popularly known as ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐ข๐ข ๐ฃ๐๐ฅ๐, has hosted a ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ป๐-๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐-๐ง๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ for the 2025/2026 Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) cohort, marking the successful completion of their six-month practical training in zoo management.
The ceremony, held on ๐ช๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐ฑ๐๐ต ๐๐๐ด๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, was organised to acknowledge the students' dedication, contributions, and commitment during their period of training at the Zoo Park, while also encouraging them as they embark on the next phase of their academic and professional journeys.
The occasion was graced by ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ. ๐ง๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ ๐ข๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ, former Director of the Institute for Human Resources Development (INHURD), and ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ข๐น๐ฎ๐ท๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ, Acting Director of Public Relations, FUNAAB, alongside members of staff of FUNAAB Zoo Park.

In his goodwill message, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ข๐น๐ฎ๐ท๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ, Acting Director of Public Relations, charged the graduating SIWES students to continually ๐ฏ๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฟ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐, ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฟ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ด๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐๐ต. He encouraged them to equip themselves with relevant skills and knowledge in order to remain competitive and favourably positioned for opportunities in their chosen careers.
Also speaking at the occasion, ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ. ๐ง๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ ๐ข๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ commended the Director of FUNAAB Zoo Park for the remarkable innovations and developments introduced to the Park. He noted that the transformation and improvements recorded at the Zoo Park were visible and provided evidence of purposeful leadership and innovation.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป to the 14 SIWES students who successfully completed the rigorous six-month practical training programme in zoo management.
The students were trained in various aspects of zoo and wildlife management, including animal care and husbandry, animal handling and restraint, animal enrichment, park tour guiding and conservation education, taxidermy and museum techniques, as well as enclosure design and maintenance.

He explained that the decision to organise the special sent-forth ceremony was borne out of the students' dedication and contributions to the activities of the Zoo Park throughout their training period. As a gesture of appreciation, the students presented a ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฒ๐น๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฑ๐ผ ๐ด๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ to the Zoo Park. The gifts were received with appreciation as a demonstration of the students' gratitude for the support and learning opportunities provided during their stay.
