Mozambique is the only country in the world which sports a firearm on their flag, namely an AK-47 Kalashinkov. It symbolises defence, vigilance and not least the long struggle for freedom and independence. The Mozambican people were occupied by the Portuguese in 1505 and suffered colonialisation for 470 years.

It wasn’t until 1975 that FRELIMO (Frente de Libertação de Moçambique / the Mozambican Liberation Front), under the leadership of Eduardo Mondlane and Samora Machel, managed to defeat the Portuguese army and finally win independence.

Rishi Sunak emerge as the new UK Prime Minister. Sunak was born on 12 May 1980 in Southampton to African-born Hindu parents of Punjabi Indian descent, Yashvir and Usha Sunak. He is the eldest of three siblings. His father was born and raised in the Colony and Protectorate of Kenya (present-day Kenya), while his mother was born in Tanganyika (which later became part of Tanzania). His grandfathers were born in Punjab province, British India, and migrated from East Africa with their family to the UK in 1960s.

STADIUM 974 - Qatar🇶🇦

Located on the shore of the gulf in the east of Doha, near the port Hamad international airport. Stadium 974 was designed by Fenwick Iribarren Architects ( A Spanish architecture firm) The 40,000 capacity stadium is constructed on 450,000 square meter waterfront and is situated on an artificial promontory. Construction began in the year 2018 and completed/opened on 30th November 2021. Stadium 974 is a temporary Venue made from 974 recycled shipping containers. the stadium will host seven matches during the 2022 fifa world cup Qatar.

Okinoshima Island: A small outcrop of the kynshu island which is close to south Korea. It is a sacred site in the Japanese Shinto religion, which insist that no female is allowed to visit the island. Even the male visitors have to strip naked and ritually wash themselves in the waters of the Korean strait before setting foot on it. According to BBC, only 200 visitors per year are allowed to visit the island. The island has been a holy spot for more than 1000 years and host a 17th century shrine at which worshippers can pray for the safe passage of japanese sailors. The island is also listed among the UNESCO world heritage site.

Antarctica is the fifth largest continent, being nearly twice the size of Australia and larger than Europe, and has an area of 14,200,00km². It's landmass is almost wholly covered by a vast ice sheet. Antarctica is the only continent without an indigenous human population due to it's remoteness, inhospitable weather conditions and lack of natural land, bridges connecting it to other continent. However, there are permanent human settlements where scientist and support staff live for part of the year on a rotating basis. The estimated number of scientist living there is about 1000 to 4000 seasonal.
