A VISIT TO THE NEW 'GARDEN OF EDEN' IN ABUJA.
In a very much serene environment within the outskirts of Abuja is the new 'Garden of Eden' called ALMAT Farms. The farm is situated on a 63.5 hectares of land and it is furnished with luxurious facilities to give the best on farm experience.
Getting to the farm isn't so much of a perfect smooth ride as it is quite a distance from the heart of the city coupled with the rough state of the road leading there. However, upon getting to the farm, one is sure to give a deep sigh of relief, knowing fully well that the journey was sure worth the ride.
To gain access, the sum of #2000 for adult and #500 Children is to be paid as entrance fee. This covers for a tour round the facility ONLY. Other activities like riding of bicycle, Quad bike and horse ride are charged separately.
Almat Farms gives a perfect blend of Farming and hospitality thereby making it the blissful location to be, free from the busy activities of the city. It also offers one of a lifetime experiences and an all encompassing facilities (Zoo, Restaurant, Chalets, Playground e. t. c) to give the perfect experience whether for vacations, sightseeing and other leisures.
Some of the things to do at Almat Farms include:
Sporting Activities
Hangout/Picnics
Sightseeing
Photo/Video shoots e.t.c
The Farm also has a restaurant called LUBUI where you can satisfy yourself with tasty meals at moderate prices. My friends and I had their fried rice, catfish pepper soup alongside Smirnoff Ice and some chilled bottled water. The food tastes so delicious and I long to have it again. They've got other delicacies on their menu list as well.
The assigned Tour Guide took me round the facility alongside my friends and it was such a beautiful moment tho quite short.
PROS:
{1} A beautiful panorama of nature in its vegetative form albeit in a modern commercialised farm.
{II} Perfect place to give one's self to the best pampering with body relieved from stress and mind renewed.
{III} Tho in the outskirts of town, they've got good security apparatus in place. You've got to pass through at least two Military checkpoints before getting to your final destination.
{IV} Tasty and fairly priced meals.
CONS:
{I}We had to wait for quite a while about 45mins, before we could get a Tour Guide to take us round the facility. I was told the tour is done in batches and this was the reason for having us wait for that long. I opine that employing more Tour Guides will go a long way in preventing this unnecessary delay.
{II} If you're visiting during the dry season, you're not likely to get the perfect greenish view as most pictures online portrays the place to be. Tho, not completely bad as seen in pictures below because I visited during the dry season. Hence, to get that beautiful and lush green view that you must have seen in pictures, visiting during the rainy season is advisable.
{III} The meal tho delicious and fairly priced, took so much time to get served. Felt like we were waiting for the second coming of Jesus😥
