The forest is a picaresque place and nice for spending time with family or friends. Lot of good scenery for photography.
The pine leaves that fall on the ground has formed a nice mattress on the ground, you can literally roll on it. Its really a great experience to be inside the forest of dense populated tall pine trees, sadly heavy deforestation is taking place in the area by the local communities

Ondo state is full of amazing mountains but idanre hills are magical with enough historical documentation that one can still relate with.
For our visit to Idanre we had slept in akure the night before and made it a day trip . The drive heading up to Idanre already revealed how breathtaking and beautiful the landscape is. There is a tourist center at the base where you purchase your tickets. Tickets were at a 1000 per person and you give whatever you agree with your tourguide as an appreciation for the tour.

With the help of our tour guide John we made it up the 682 steps to the peak. When accessing the great steps that lead to the peak you will come across five resting and viewpoints.

On the top you can explore the following the old court at Odeja since 1906, Oshokogbe stone site used for the Apon festival back in the days, Omi Apaara the thunder stream, Igboore primary school from 1896, the tourist charlets from 1954, Omi Arun, Ancient palace and courtyard, Chief Lorin house, Asurin quarters and the wonderful rock.

In total we spent three hours exploring idanre without long breaks so if you wanted long breaks you may need more time

A very wonderful place indeed with beautiful mountains and valleys scenery as you hike to the waterfall , just about 45mins (depends on your steps). This is a limestone river gorge and water fall, the whole area is definitely a karst region. excellent tourist resources going to waste, looks like the road to rivendell in HOBBITS😊. Please make sure you carry a light backpack 😉. Don't forget to take beautiful pictures, every spot is a photography studio 🥰

I have heard a lot about Erin Ijesa waterfall but I was actually stuned by the wonders of mother nature when I visited. It's a lovely place for nature lovers, serene environment and a place with fresh air. The whispering waterfall is cold and refreshing to the body.
The Waterfall is housed in an environment with magnificent scape; with beauty that greets upon arrival. We were welcomed by drummers. It has seven cascades. In a search for the source of the water in company of other tourists we spent almost an hour climbing upwards with tree stumps as support. After the climb we relaxed by the soothing water splash; the sound and flow of the torrent water is refreshing and relaxing. It is preferable to come along with Hiking shoes, change of clothes for people who want to enjoy the water at the base. Though this place got seven cascades, we were able to get to the fourth, 'cos the other floors are breathe tasking.
Btw: Make sure you have lots of time. To enjoy this place, you shouldn’t be in a hurry.
