The Role: Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Equipment Procurement Manager (EMP) is responsible to lead and execute purchasing strategies nationally in obtaining high-quality and reliable equipment. The EMP is expected to develop and implement procurement standards and policies, develop a quality and reliable supplier list, and execute of all purchasing activities.
Major Responsibilities: Develop and execute procurement strategies for the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of equipment
Collaborate with business users and Project Managers to comprehend equipment requirements and formulate procurement plans aligned with organizational objectives
Identify, assess, and select reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts for favorable terms and conditions
Develop a list of reliable suppliers, fostering relationships to ensure consistent product quality
Lead and organize all purchasing activities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce lead times
Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders, providing updates on procurement activities and addressing concerns

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, or related disciplines
Minimum of 10 years' experience in purchasing equipment for large supermarkets or food production retail chain
Strong familiarity with procuring commercial equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, food maker, cooler, heater, fixture, etc
Strong network of suppliers and manufacturers in China is mandatory
Excellent technical understanding of supermarket equipment
Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation and communication skills
Proficient in both written and spoken English, ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset
Ability to work independently
Willingness and ability to travel frequently
