WHEN 12:15PM BECOMES 6:40PM… AND 6:40PM STILL DOESN'T HAPPEN. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I booked United Nigeria Airlines for my client weeks ago for 9th of August from Asaba to Lagos because the 12:15pm scheduled departure suited the client's onward journey to Ibadan.

The flight was rescheduled to 6:40pm.
We adjusted.

Now it is past the revised time and the aircraft has still not arrived at Asaba for the flight, as at the time of this post.

This is exactly why reliability matters in aviation.

I chose United Nigeria specifically because of the original departure time. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have booked another airline.

Passengers plan their entire journeys around flight schedules. When an airline changes that schedule by several hours, there are consequences beyond simply “waiting for the flight.”

UNITED NIGERIA AIRLINES, WE NEED ANSWERS.

Weeks ago, I booked a United Nigeria Airline flight for my client from Asaba to Lagos, scheduled for 12:15pm.

That timing was important because my client's final destination is Ibadan. I deliberately selected United Nigeria because the original schedule gave the client a reasonable chance of completing the journey to Ibadan without getting stranded late at night.

Then came the rescheduling.
The flight was moved from 12:15pm to 6:40pm.
Already frustrating, but we adjusted our plans.

Unfortunately, it is now past the revised 6:40pm departure time and the flight has still not departed Asaba. At the time of writing, we are still waiting.
This is not merely an inconvenience.

When an airline sells a flight at a particular time, passengers and travel agents make other arrangements around that schedule — road transportation, accommodation, connecting flights, business appointments, family commitments and, in this case, an onward journey to Ibadan.

I chose United Nigeria because of the original departure time.
If I had known that the schedule could shift from 12:15pm to 6:40pm and that even the revised time might not be dependable, I would have booked another airline.

United Nigeria Airlines, please explain what is happening with this flight and what you intend to do for the passengers whose plans have been disrupted.

This is exactly why travellers need to think twice before choosing an airline based solely on the advertised departure time.
A schedule is only useful if passengers can reasonably rely on it.
