CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATION;ALADO EDUCATES STUDENTS ON READING HABIT

As Children all over the world celebrating children day, 2024 , the Alado of Ado-Awaye Land, His Royal Majesty, Asoludero, Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Makuledoye II, Odubade I has educated a large numbers of students who came from different schools across the state on adventure to Iyake Suspended Lake in celebration of this year's edition of Children day anniversary.

Kabiesi Alado in his Royal interaction with the students welcomed them on behalf of the Oyo State Government and in his capacity as the CEO FOLAD VARIETY LIMITED,the major consultant in charge of Iyake Suspended Lake tourism center to Ado Mountain Tourism Center, Ago Afin Agelu road,Ado Awaye.

When speaking further,he described reading habit as a well planned and deliberate pattern of study which has attained a form of consistency on the part of student towards understanding academic subjects and passing examinations.It goes a long way to determine the success and academic achievement of a student.He added. Kabiesi Alado highlighted the two major types of reading habit...extensive and intensive and 22 better ways to creating a reading habit such as (1) creation of conducive reading environment,(2) setting a reading time (3) setting a reading goal (4) experiment your understanding,(5) stay focused ,with an emphasis on reading to earn name and to lead as a pivotal way to raise the reading consciousness of the students among others.Oba Folakanmi equally enumerated some of the benefits of reading such as;(1) It improves students vocabulary,(2) it also improve writing skill,(3)it helps mental health (4) Improves memory (5)it also boost knowledge and improve focus and concentration.His Royal Majesty concluded his lecture by highlighted how a student can have effective reading like; underlining important information, taking notes as you are reading, teaching others and allow others to teach you new things, asking questions while reading, laying emphasis on developing one student, one book, one week plan, interpreting what you read into your local language.

Finally, Alado of Ado-Awaye gave a vivid account of historical background of Ado-Awaye and myth surrounded Iyake Suspended Lake and certificate of participation was presented by his Royal Majesty to every participating schools.

EASTER FESTIVAL; YOUTHS FELLOWSHIP, ORITA MEFA BAPTIST CHURCH,SLINT INSTITUTE OF AVIATION, OTHERS VISIT IYAKE LAKE AS C.A.N, ADO AWAYE CHAPTER TROOPS IN TO FELICITATES WITH ALADO ON EASTER DAY.

The four days program organized by Folad Variety Limited, the indigenous Consultant in charge of Ado Mountain Tourism Center has been successfully concluded on Monday 1st April,2024.

The maiden edition of the program which was tagged A TRIP TO AFRICAN JERUSALEM with an intention to promote the site patronage commenced on 29th March,2024 with various individuals, groups and organization participated with passion and enthusiasm,such as Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology,Igboora,SLINT INSTITUTE OF AVIATION, Ibadan,Youths Fellowship,Orita Mefa Baptist Church, Ibadan,Waivery Tours Limited among others.

In his maiden address prior to the hiking, the Alado of Ado Awaye kingdom who also the CEO. FOLAD VARIETY LIMITED,Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Makuledoye II,Odubade I, welcomed all tourists to the ancient town and congratulated them on this year's Easter celebration.

As part of the program of activities designed for the event,Oba Folakanmi after he appreciated Oyo State Government under the able leadership of His Excellence, Engineer Abiodun Oluseyi Makinde,FNSE,mni for approved his company, FOLAD ,to be in charge of the center as part of the provisional arrangement towards creating enabling environment for would be investors gave historical background, myths and legend surrounding some of the destinations on Ado mountain including Iyake Suspended Lake to the tourists.Kabiesi Alado also in his address identified some of the cultural , spiritual and economic benefits of the lake and its potential contributions to the gross domestic products of our state if properly developed to a desired taste of international standard.

Speaking on behalf of Youths Fellowship, Orita Mefa Baptist Church, Ibadan, Rev'd Seun Olawoore appreciated Kabiesi for given them the needed informations about the place they have come to visit.He added that his team was not only came to Ado Awaye for tourism exploration but to carry out some degree of evangelism in the community.

Shortly after his address they all embarked on hiking to the mountain.On their arrival, they were all served with Ado Awaye local food, precisely,(otiili),peageon bean and a certificate of participation was presented to them accordingly.

Similarly, the Christian Association of Nigeria,Ado Awaye branch in the euphoria of Easter celebration on 1st of April,2024 after their annual interdenominational service trooped into the tourism center to rejoice and celebrate this year's Easter festival with His Royal Majesty,Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi.

Pastor Gbadegesin Emmanuel, when he was speaking on behalf of the entire members of the Association congratulated His Royal Majesty for witnessing this year 2024 Easter festival and he expressed his deep appreciation to Kabiesi Alado and the entire Makuledoye family for the peace of land allotted the association as Galilei.He added that, the entire association behold the gesture as a huge success recorded that would forever be appreciated.He therefore assured him of the association's undiluted total support for his administration henceforth.

I humbly write by the mandate of His Royal Majesty, Asoludero Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi Makuledoye II, Odubade I, the Alado of Ado Awaye Land , to greet you all and make passionate appeal for your effective participation as this year's edition of Iyake International Festival is fast approaching.

Great sons and daughters of our town,I use the authority of His Royal Majesty to greet you all, in the mighty name of God ,we shall all prosperous and live long, untimely death will not be our portion.The blessed ones among us will continue to be blessed increasingly. Barely 3 years ago Iyake International Festival was birthed and is being nurturing since then.No doubt, the brand is a product of initiative of His Royal Majesty, Asoludero Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, the Alado of Ado Awaye kingdom, to promote our God's given heritage, IYAKE NATURAL SUSPEND LAKE, and by extension to transform the social economic potential of the people of the host community and Oyo state in general .Above all,it is created as a yearly way of bringing our people together for positive social interactions.

The Iyake festival is an annual festival that is synonymous with Olojo festival in Ife land,Osun osogbo festival,in osogbo, Oke Ibadan festival in Ibadan land, Sango festival in Oyo town,Argungu festival in Benue,Eyo festival in Lagos, among others.Some of these festival have been playing a significant roles in the development of their host community.

It is patinent to inform you that, Iyake Suspended lake has been enlisted by National Commission for Museums and Monuments, as one of the tourism site to be adopted for promotion by UNESCO.What a good new!

Fellow compatriots, the level of our participation in the previous editions of Iyake festival for whatever reasons,was not encouraging .Perhaps,we are unaware of the importance of this festival to the social economic development of our dear town. Therefore ,it is high time we join hands together to promote this festival for the development of our economy and global status through our effective participation in the annual event.

Let us remind ourselves of love and concern we usually exhibiting during the celebration of Ado Awaye day in the past years and our collective efforts during the coronation of His Royal Majesty,Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi six years ago.This type of love, passion and cooperation in reference are the major magic wands required to promote this festival for us to enjoy it's attendant benefits as other communities with similar festival do.

It is axiomatic that in this kind of festival,the roles of indigenes of the host community cannot be overemphasized, this is the reason I am making this passionate appeal on behalf of His Royal Majesty for your effective participation and noble contributions as youths,men and women in Ado Awaye community, including non indigenes. Everyone has a role to play.At this juncture, I challenge our people mostly in diaspora to join hands with us in promoting our own Iyake festival in the interest of our community development, believing that East and west home is always the best.

Finally,as this year's edition of Iyake International Festival is fast approaching, various committees have been constituted to perform some task, we are imploring you all as indigenes of this town to join hands together with us towards ensuring a successful festival 2023.
Come one, come all to play your own part.!

In conclusion,14-16 November as dates for the line up programs of activity for this year's edition remain sacrosanct and ankara cloth is out for sale as uniform wear for the grand finale day.

VISITATION ;ALADO LEADS IYAKE FESTIVAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS ON A CONGRATULATORY VISIT TO THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM .... described the appointment of Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun as round peg in a round hole

The Alado of Ado Awaye kingdom,HRM.Asoludero, Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi Makuledoye II, Odubade I,has described the appointment of Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun as the pioneer Commissioner for the newly created Ministry of Culture and Tourism a round peg in a round hole.

Kabiesi Alado made this statement during his congratulatory visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism,Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun in his office, Secretariat ,Agodi, Ibadan,on Wednesday 23rd August,2023.

Oba Folakanmi recalled that, the announcement of the creation of the new ministry and the subsequent appointment of Dr. Olatunbosun as the pioneer Commissioner in charge trigared joy and jubilations in his palace and the entire Ado-Awaye community.Kabiesi said and as quote, "apart from the fact that,Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun is a good friend to Ado Awaye people, his passion for Culture and Tourism is incomparable."Alado added that, his commitments towards turning Iyake Natural Suspended Lake in Ado Awaye to a world class tourism destination was unprecedented as displayed when he was the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism during the first term tenure of Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde,FNSE,CoN. Hence, the main reason for our jubilations and celebrations in Ado- Awaye on his appointment as the pioneer Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.

In the same token, Kabiesi Alado and other members of Iyake International Festival used the avenue to breif the Honourable Commissioner about the preparations for the year festival coming up between 14-16 November,2023 at the foot of Ado hill,Ago Afin,Ado Awaye.

In his breif response,Dr. Olatunbosun appreciated Kabiesi Alado and other members of Iyake festival committee for the love and the visitation.Speaking further, the Oluyole born politician reiterated the Oyo State commitment and His Excellency's assurance to develop some tourism destinations in the state with a major focus on Iyake Natural Suspended lake and as top priority on the list in Omititun 2.0 Agenda.

The visitation finally ended in a warmth reception as usual.

COUNTDOWN TO IYAKE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2023; ALADO, OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE

In preparation towards this year edition of Iyake International festival slated for 16-18 November,2023 Alado of Ado Awaye kingdom,HRM.Asoludero, Oba Rev'd Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi Makuledoye II, Odubade I, and other relevant stakeholders will hold press conference on 31st August,2023 at Alado hall, National museum,Aleshinloye, Ibadan,at 10am.

The plan conference is to awake the consciousness of the general public on the importance of the year festival theme which is *Tourism for Sustainable* *development:A* *case* *study* *of* *Ado Mountain/Iyake* *Suspended* *lake* *in* **Ado-Awaye,and* to highlight the line up program of activity and acruable benefits both for the State, local governments and the general public.

Fuel Subsidy: Making Sense of the Real Enemy

Many people do not understand the politics behind fuel subsidy and it's dangers to the development and growth of Nigeria.

The intension of the government to subsidise petrol was simply to make the product affordable for Nigerians and make life easier. So, the average price of petrol in the world can be as high as N590, however, the Nigerian Government will subsidise the product and fix price at N185 bringing total amount of subsidy per litre to N405.

The average consumption of litres of petrol in Nigeria per day is 60 million litres. However, Marketers of the product loads as much as 100 million litres and above per day.

This means the Nigerian Government is expected to pay as much as N405 × 100,000,000 (litres) as subsidy per day to the Marketers of the product to keep prices at N185 for instance. This brings the amounts to N40.5 billion daily and about N1.2 trillion monthly. Kindly take note that this amount can either decrease or increase following prices of petrol at the international market.

So, just try to wrap your head around it and know what Nigeria expends on fuel subsidy alone in a year - obviously some billions of dollars.

Here's the irony of whole arrangement

1. Petroleum Marketers (major petrol dealers with tank farms) usually divert larger quantity of the subsidised petrol to neighbouring countries to resell at the international market price. So, they make same amount of money the Nigerian Government has paid on the subsidised petrol at the neighbouring countries.

2. This makes the product relatively scarce in Nigeria as the left over becomes lower than the daily consumption in the country. The implication is that petrol stations will be selling fairly higher than the fixed price of N185 (some sells N190, N205, N225, N250 and so on depending on the area). And during peak periods of scarcity, which are also engineered by the marketers, Nigerians still buy same subsidised petrol for as high as N400, N500 and even N800 as the case was in first quarter of this year while sleeping in filling stations. Again, marketers make double.

3. Marketers also import above the daily consumption of 60 million litres as seen above and still force the federal government to pay subsidy on the excesses, which are usually part of what they smuggle to neighbouring countries. Again, marketers dupe Nigeria.

4. This entire scenario makes a mess of the good intention of the Nigerian government to make petrol affordable for Nigerians.

5. This scarcity and high cost of the product despite subsidy leads to arbitrar increase in the cost of living. Transportation for instance, goes up crazily.

Moves to Remove Subsidy & Reactions

Therefore, successive federal governments having seen the outright abuse of the subsidy policy have always tried to cancel the policy so that market forces can determine the cost of petrol.

More so, the huge amount of money paid into the pockets of Marketers can be channeled to other meaningful venture such as infrastructural development, agriculture, social security, technology, health, etc.

However, whenever the move to remove subsidy is made, the Marketers are quick to shutdown their filling stations and deprive Nigerians access to the already subsided fuel in their possession. This leads to instant scarcity regime and hardship ( _like we are already witnessing where subsidy has been paid till the end of June but marketers have quickly stopped selling or arbitrarily increased their pump prises above approved rate). Marketers are the REAL CABALS_

And while the marketers make more money on one hand, they force and instigate Nigerians against the federal government with the hardship created on the other hand.

Then, the innocent Nigerians who do not understand the politics behind subsidy goes on strike, attacks the government and force her to continue the subsidy regime. We pay more for our ignorance at the long run.

The marketers are happy; they remain the top billionaires in Africa. Everyone loves them, wish to be like them, and celebrate them. Whereas the federal government count her losses, takes the insult, bears the bad name and pity uninformed/suffering Nigerians like you and me.

Will you support Tinubu to break this barrier and give us freedom or you will remain adamant and spread the hate?
