The Canadian Express Entry program is a popular immigration pathway for skilled workers who wish to live and work in Canada permanently. It is a points-based system that assesses candidates based on various factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.
To be eligible for the Canadian Express Entry program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Eligible Federal Economic Immigration Programs: Candidates must be eligible for at least one of the three federal economic immigration programs managed through Express Entry. These programs include the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
2. Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in either English or French by taking a language test approved by the Canadian government. The test assesses reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The minimum language proficiency required varies depending on the program, but a higher score can earn more points.
3. Education: Candidates must have completed a minimum of high school education or its equivalent. However, having a higher level of education, such as a bachelor's or master's degree, can earn additional points.
4. Work Experience: Candidates must have at least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent part-time work experience in a skilled occupation within the past ten years. The work experience must be classified under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system as Skill Type 0, Skill Level A, or Skill Level B.
5. Express Entry Profile: Candidates must create an online Express Entry profile and provide accurate and up-to-date information about their skills, work experience, education, language proficiency, and other relevant details. Based on this information, candidates are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which determines their ranking in the Express Entry pool.
