FORGET CANADA, EUROPE PROVIDES BETTER OPPORTUNITIES NOW

Canada has been the hub of migration for more than fifteen years now. Since Canada opens her door for people to come in either for study, work or permanent residency, many people have trooped in.

I remembered assisting a close friend about seventeen years ago to migrate to Canada. Then the processing wasn’t difficult like this. You just go and get the UNESCO coupon on the Island and then you will get a postal mail about your application. That what how we did the application for that my friend and he is a Canadian citizen today.

Of recent, getting work permit or study visa in Canada is becoming extremely difficult. It was in the news that over 65% visa application was rejected for those applying for study visa.

If on the other hand, you are planning to go for work visa, you might not get any response for more than one year. The challenge in getting Express Entry or work visa in Canada now is that you might fall into the hand of fraudsters on the guise of assisting you for work visa.

There are many people who believe that getting a Canada Study Permit is all about having enough money in your account (proof of funds). But early last year, the news of a young guy who was refused a study permit despite the fact that had one million naira in his account doesn’t keep everyone asking questions.

For now, Canada doesn’t send anybody. The immigration rules are changing everyday. Even getting the ‘Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) is not easy. You have to show that you have assets, stocks and convincing ties and purpose of your visit. If not, you won’t get a visa.

It is because of all these ‘gbas-gbos’ or backlash that many people are shifting base. The housing problem in Canada is not funny at all. Getting a work visa in Canada is not a meal ticket that you will get an accommodation. That is why if you are planning migrate to Canada, you need to weigh the pros and cons before taking that decision. It could lead to regret if not well considered.

Now, there are better places or options than going to Canada and you could live a better and happier life if you go to any of these destinations. And do you know what, the pay is good too.

1. Australia: The fact that Australia is far and a colder region is that reason why many people have not been considering this region. The Australian government just make work visa easy and accessible by introducing a new work class. There are many opportunities for those planning to go into Teaching, Caregiving, Construction, Engineering and so on.

2. New Zealand: Just like Australia, New Zealand also provides better opportunity for those seeking migrant opportunity. It could amaze you that you can get your visa application in three weeks. You don’t have to go through the hassle of the Embassy; everything is done online as there is no New Zealand Embassy in Nigeria.

3. Netherlands: This is one of the most beautiful countries in the Schengen zone. It has everything you need to make life easy from effective transport system, energy, balanced work life, housing, infrastructure, clean air, good salary, healthcare, education and whatever you can think of. And another good thing is that most Dutch people speak English. So, what are you looking for?

4. Denmark: If you have heard of clean air, digital governance, amazing architecture, renewable energy, one of the happiest countries of the world, high life expectancy of eighty-three years for women and seventy-nine years for men, home of Europe oldest monarchy, then you should be thinking of Denmark. If you have kids, you don’t have to bother about their education as they would have free access to education.

5. Luxembourg: This is the richest country in the world. It is also one of the most beautiful places you can ever dream of. The average salary in Luxembourg is 6,000 Euros per month. The population of Luxembourg is 677,712 as at 2024 statistics. French, German and English are spoken in this country and you’ll have good opportunity here if you are multilingual. As I write there are over three million jobs in Luxembourg. There is shortage of occupation in the IT, banking & finance, healthcare, engineering, construction, hospitality HR, trades, logistics, education, marketing etc. If you fall into any of these categories, your fortune could change in some months if you find yourself in Luxembourg.

6. Finland: Finland is another good country to consider if you are thinking of migrating abroad. There are many job opportunities and it is the cleanest place in the world. The average citizen or vast majority of Finish people speak English.

7. Germany: Germany is providing a lot of work opportunities now especially in vocational and skills areas, volunteer work, healthcare, caregiving and teaching. If you fall into any of these categories, you can make money in Germany because they need people like you.

ONE OF THE BEST UNIVERSITIES TO STUDY MEDICINE

Choosing where to study Medicine should be painstakingly considered. This is because it has to do with life. That is why if anyone is planning to go for courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Nursing in the UK, USA, Canada and some other European countries, you have to do start with a preliminary first. It is only in Nigeria you can take this ourse without going through a preliminary.

This is tell you how these foreign universities look at Medicine and some other courses that have to do with life. That is why you also have to do mandatory courses and have your license renewed if you are to practice. This is how important studying Medicine is.

Getting a good medical school is very difficult especially when you are looking at competitive tuition fees because not many people could afford to go the UK or USA. In Canada, most universities won't even allow you to study Medicine at the undergraduate level except you have a first degree in the sciences or related field. It is only in sone French speaking regions that you can be allowed to study Medicine. But is also very competitive too.

Why all this preamble? It is just to tell you American University of Barbados (AUB) is one of the best abd globally rated universities offering the best medical education you can ever dream of. I have been referring students to this university for more than seven years now and the quality of medical education AUB offers is non-pariel, unmatchable, unbeatable and unparalleled. Their students are foong well everywhere they find themselves.

Tamilore testimony in this video speaks volume. I was told by his Dad recently that his lecturers assign him to take some other students. This is because he is exceptionally brilliant. Anyway, I wasn't surprised. For a boy who took delivery of a pregnant women while during his industrial exposure in secondary school, I can't expect anything less.

If you are thinking of getting the best medical education with competitive fees abd that you will graduate on home, think AUB!

My Most Challenging Visa Experience

Last week I had my most challenging visa experience ever after over twenty five years experience of applying for visas. I had submitted a visa application at the VFS office in Lagos. After waiting for my visa for more than thirty-five days, I was exasperated and don't know what the matter was when the normal visa application shouldn't take more than 15 days.
I was almost losing hope. When it appeared there was no hope in sight, I visited the visa application centre myself if I can get my passport because I was to apply for another visa. Time was ticking fast, my colleagues in Denmark were waiting and as usual and i happened to be to only Nigerian thst will be participating in that program, the Summer School.
Our WhatsApp platform was brimming loading wirh lots of fun and social activities which makes my participation a never-to-miss!. But here was the Red Sea was before me, which the Embassy withholding my visa or passport (whichever one comes first).
After waiting in vain, I just resigned to God's will. So, last week while I was in the office, a strange number like a landline called. I thought it was from Go-Tv asking me to recharge. I asked my office assistant to answer the call as I wasn't in the mood for that. But, alas the call was from the Danish Embassy in Abuja.
I apologized profusely and the lady said she would like you asked me some questions and then began the baptism of fire which I wasn't prepared for.
The next day, she said I should be prepared for another round of interview. I haven't heard that before. I mean doing another interview when you have submitted your visa application and you are expecting your visa.
But i have been favoured with one thing, I haven't failed any oral interviews before. I am also good at written interviews too.
The lady continued, "You are Mr. Adebiyi Olugbenga." I responded in the affirmative.. We would like to ask you some questions." "Could you tell us..." And these was followed with barrage of questions which I wasn't really prepared for. But, God helped my i was able to answer those questions confidently.
After this, she asked me to submit some documents under 12 hours which I had submitted earlier.
I got calls for more than four times until I got the news that, "Mr Adebiyi Olugbenga we are happy to inform you that your plan to go to Denmark has been approved by the Danish Embassy."
I am sharing this for a number of reasons.
1. Sometimes you might have sime sort of visa delays and you mihjt be asked to resend your application.
2. Be prepared at all times. And don't move money from your account until you get your visa.
3. Make sure your phone is always with you and you are reachable at all times. Be polite and don't ignore unknown numbers or calls. It might be from the embassy or for job or some goodies!
4. Be prepared for the worse and be cinfident during visa interviews especially when asked to give reasons for your trip or travels.
5. Always know the information you supplied. What if I knew nothing about information in my visa application?
6. Be polite with the visa officer or your interviewer even if they are harsh.
7. Be positive at all times.
