Their procession was vibrant and boisterous, but behind it all was a connection to a legacy that continues to find expression in the present. It was a reminder that at the heart of the Lagos Fanti Carnival is a story that continues to live through communities like theirs.

At the Lagos Fanti Carnival 2026, Okepopo carried Afro-Brazilian heritage into a modern rhythm.

Their green and white colours filled Tafawa Balewa Square as they delivered sharp routines and playful stunts. It was vibrant and contemporary, but still clearly anchored in the cultural legacy that defines the Fanti tradition in Lagos.

With Brazilian Campos Carreta, it’s always about expression, and they leaned fully into it at this year's Lagos Fanti Carnival.

Flamboyant and full of life, their procession blended history and creativity in a way that felt natural. It was rich and colourful, and you could see all the layers come together to tell the story of a community that has been at the heart of the carnival since the beginning.

Okoo-Faji's procession at Lagos Fanti Carnival 2026 was a full display of community power, youth energy, and Afro-Brazilian heritage brought to life.

Their display was a testament to what happens when a community deeply rooted in Afro-Brazilian tradition decides to show up and show out. Every step honoured tradition, and every routine told a story generations deep.

Lafiaji delivered a showing defined by confidence and unmistakable flair at the Lagos Fanti Carnival.

Their regal procession was marked by their striking red and white colours, precise choreography, and the kind of unity that has defined the community for generations. As one of the original pillars of the Afro-Brazilian story on Lagos Island, Lafiaji carried its history with pride, turning every step into a statement of heritage and identity.

There was a sense of depth to Isale-Eko Woro’s showing at the Lagos Fanti Carnival.

The community brought a vibrant, high-spirited procession that wove together rhythm and layered cultural influences. As one of the oldest carnival blocs from Lagos Island’s historic core, their display carried both the weight of tradition and the excitement of the moment.
