Awhum Waterfall and Cave.
Awhum Situated at Amaugwe village of Awhum town in Udi Local Government Area, The town is located about 24 kilometers from Enugu (Coal City) the state capital. from the parking spot to the fall, It's about 45 minute's walk.

Ohum (spelled officially as Awhum)
the waterfall is a result of a massive outcrop of granite rock with water cascading over the top forming a stream.
The fall is 30 meters high while the mind limestone walls stretch about 300 meters long, It engulfs the footpath that terminated beneath a wall, narrowing into different parts of the cave in which laid the twin cascades of Awhum.


When inside you could feel the cool air and the sound of the waterfall, Awhum Waterfall is nature's gift, with much more adventurous experience.

The water is also reported to have spiritual and healing powers as it's famed for its curative powers and ability to dispel satanic forces.

Awhum Waterfall Enugu is definitely a place to visit, It was discovered that It is notable as a pilgrim and tourist destination.
Located close to the Awhum waterfall; is the Awhuw Monastery.

The Awhum Waterfall is also popular in Nollywood Movies and also popular in tourist locations in Nigeria.

Fluted Pumpkins popularly known as Ugwu (Ugwu leaves) is a vine plant that is essentially consumed by a great number of the populace of Nigeria, and is commonly found in the West Africa region.

It is used to prepare some very nice Nigerian soups, such as egusi, ogbono, edi kain kong, etc.

Common names for the plant include fluted gourd, fluted pumpkin, ugu (in the Igbo language), and ikong-ubong (in the Efik and Ibibio languages).

The fluted pumpkin botanically known as Telfaira occidentalis has the advantage of being enjoyed through out the year unlike some other vegetables. However, you see the leaves flood the market more during rainy season.

The dark green leaf, no doubt has been a staple vegetable in the diets of many as it can be combined with all the solid meals such as wheat, eba, fufu and the rest.

Unknown to many, pumpkin leaves are loaded with a lot of nutritional benefits which can be helpful in aligning our path to a healthy status. The seeds produced by the gourd are high in protein and fat, and can, therefore, contribute to a well-balanced diet.

NIGERIAN SHISH KEBAB

Suya is one of the most cherished local delicacies in Nigeria.

Restaurants in Lagos sell local food, grilled plantain with ground nuts, fish and more. In all of their forms, no local food is as popular as suya, very similar to shish kebab.

Suya is generally made with skewered beef, ram, or chicken. Innards such as kidney, liver and tripe are also used.

Suya is spiced with peanut cake, salt, vegetable oil and other flavorings, and then barbecued.

Suya is garnished with tomatoes, cabbage and sliced onions.

Unlike grilled suya common in other part of Nigeria, Suya is mostly dried in the northern part of Nigeria to form kilishi meat. In Abuja, kilishi is prepared with mixed spices. Kilishi can also be taken alone as a snack, or with a cup of ice cold soaked garri.

I remember when I visited this center for the very first time in Lagos, Nigeria. The coolest of all were the animals especially the ancient tortoise. It was really a beautiful experience for me.

When we passed through, to another section, I was amazed at the different specie of trees including those trees I never saw before I visited the center. The botanical names of all the trees being mentioned, were too long to have been cramped unless written down for future reference. It was really fun and very different from the usual.

Lagos Freedom Park; culture, fun and history personified.

Lagos is known to be the city where beautiful happenings usually take place, both weekdays and weekends, in order to suite the delight of all.

We continue to hope for a better Lagos, even after the pandemic is over. We also look forward to alot of outing to meet up with, after the lock down. #

Freedom park would have been the right place to relax right now. I really do miss the usual hang out.

I remember when a friend of mine, now out of the country, took me to the park for the first time. I was really astonished at the beautiful historical view.

It was an awesome experience for me. Delicious delicacies prepared by both whites and blacks. Access to wifi. Access to both African and intercontinental dishes. Oh! how I love the fish.

The former prison converted to a center for creative expression can also be found in freedom park.
