Meet the Saros of Lagos
Saros were freed enslaved Africans—predominantly of Yoruba descent, heavily influenced by victorian culture —who were repatriated from Freetown, Sierra Leone, to Nigeria in the 19th century. As the first Western-educated, Christian, and entrepreneurial elite.
