No one likes the stress of moving from one residence to another but besides the stress of moving furniture, clothes etc. from one house to another, some people dislike moving because of the psychological effects it may have on them.

Children of all age groups tend to suffer the psychological stress more than their adult counterpart. Some children show this stress by bed wetting (younger children), acting aggressive, acting unnecessarily clingy to family members, being restless which may lead to insomnia etc.

Boon Vans has a couple of advice to help deal with the stress:

*Make your child(ren) aware of the move (if it is planned) at least three months earlier.

*Lend your child(ren) a listening ear if he/she/they want(s) to talk about the relocation.

*Take your child(ren) to visit the new place before the move so he/she/they can get a little used to it before the relocation.

*Pay extra attention to your child(ren) on the day of the move and be ready to answer questions with a warm expression.

*Let your child(ren) settle in fully before enrolling her/him/them into a new school or club etc.
