I used to come here years ago to visit a friend who lived here, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had transformed to this. .bysrs
We had a 5 course dinner. Forgot to take a photo of the smoked salmon crostini.
1. Valouté of leek & onion. I dont know what valouté means, but it was a light soup, with definitely a leeky taste and a strong garlic smell. Although there was no garlic in the soup. I think it was used to garnish.
2. Red snapper. I love fish, but I wish there were more of the veggies on the plate.
3&4. Palate cleanser. This was chilled palmwine. The smoke was from the ice in the clay bowl.
5. Lamb. Right portion for me since I'm not keen on meat. I was afraid it would be dry, but it wasn't. Finally, a taste of pepper with the greens on the plate, which tasted like ugu. The pepper was atarodo. The lamb was also smeared with yaji. Separate potato and mixed vegetable servings to share.
6. Chicken. Nothing really special about this. At this point, I was tired because the time between each course felt a bit long.
7. Passion fruit & mango cheese cake. I really enjoyed this. Wanted to ask for seconds but didn't want to shame myself.
Then, the kitchen seemed to like that edible decorative thing. I've been seeing it too much in Lagos now. Please, overuse is a thing, in my opinion.
Overall, it had a good ambience, a nicely curated menu. Will go back for sure.
