PROFILE OF PIRIYE KIYARAMO
Piriye Kiyaramo, born on April 12, 1963 at Bamusuo, in Southern Cameroon, hails from Ikebiri community in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State. He is a media/tourism consultant. He holds a diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism Abuja and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical and Health Education, from the University of Port Harcourt.
Mr. Kiyaramo, currently serves in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme Abuja, as media consultant.
Until his recent position at the Presidency, he has was Senior Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Deputy Rector, International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Yenagoa, Zonal Secretary of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) South-South Zone.
Mr. Kiyaramo, popularly known as Mr. Tourism in Bayelsa State, also served as pioneer executive council member of the West Africa Tourism Union Ghana. He later became secretary of the West Africa Tourism Roadmap Draft Committee, representing Nigeria on the committee. The committee was inaugurated in Leme, Togo in 2006.
Other positions held by Mr. Kiyaramo, include, founding secretary of Bayelsa Tourism Practitioners Association, Honourary Secretary of Yenagoa Boat Club, Chairman, De Spring Travels & Tours Limited, Media Director, Niger Delta Tourism, Peace Initiative, Uyo, Secretary, Association of Nigerian Travel Agents, Bayelsa Chapter, Chairman, Association of Nigerian Journalists and Writers of Tourism (ANJET) and Director of Public Relations, International Institute of Tourism and Hospitality, Yenagoa.
He was a consultant with the Bayelsa State Tourism Development Bureau, secretary of the Ox-Lake Management Committee, Director of Media and Communication, Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), President, Bayelsa Village Travel Club, State Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Chairman, Corporate Relations Committee of the Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Founder and Director-General of the Bayelsa Business Roundtable and Publicity Secretary of International Institute for Peace (IIPT) Nigeria.
He is happily married to Mercy Piriye Kiyaramo and the family is blessed and fruitful.

UNVEILING THE NEW BOSS OF THE PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY PROGRAMME (PAP), BRIG-GEN. PAUL T. BOROH (RTD),

The news of the recent appointment of a brilliant Ijaw son, Brig-Gen. Paul T. Boroh (rtd.), as Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme for former Niger Delta Agitators by President Muhammadu Buhari, came to all well-meaning Ijaws, home and abroad, as a cheering report and a step in the right direction.
From available records, Brig-Gen. Paul T. Boroh (rtd), is one of the finest officers the Nigerian Army has produced. Like his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, Brig.Gen. Boroh, is indeed a global icon and a scholar, celebrated within and outside the shores of Nigeria as a result of his exploits while in service.
This fine gentle man whose interest in anchored on peace building and conflict resolution, hails from Trofani Community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Beyond the prominent roles he played in the resolution of several armed conflicts within and outside West Africa, including the Liberian conflict, between 1994 and 1995 and the Sierra-Leone conflict, between 1999 and 2000, under the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission, Brig.Gen. Boroh, is a celebrated consultant on peace building with over 25 years’ experience on crisis management.
He was Chief of Staff at the United Nations Mission in Liberia, from 2009 to 2010. Between 2010 and 2012, Brig.Gen. Boroh (Rtd), was Commandant at the Nigerian Army Peacekeeping Centre, Kaduna-Nigeria, where he had pre-deployment trainings of about twelve thousand soldiers, before their induction into the United Nations Mission in Dafur, Somalia, Liberia, cote de voire, among other countries.
He was reported to be one time Commanding Officer, at the United Nations Mission in Sierra-Leone, Commanding Officer, Economic Community of West African States’ Peacekeeping Group, having been involved in conducting several peace support operations’ training programmes for the Nigerian military and subsequent induction exercises for the United Nations Mission at different times.
It is on record that over 12,000 military personnel and defence correspondents have passed through training programmes under his watch, while in service.
Brig. Gen. Boroh, one of the authors of a book, “Governance and Violent Conflicts in Nigeria and UN Peacekeeping as a Mechanism for Conflict Resolution in Africa” has an intimidating academic profile.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science, from the University of Abuja; Master’s Degree in Peace/Conflict Studies, University of Ibadan, a second Master’s Degree in Strategic studies, from same University of Ibadan, while PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies, is in view.
This illustrious Ijaw son, whose appointment is a square peg in a square hole, belongs to several professional bodies within and outside the country. He is a Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice, Fort Benning, USA, British Stabilization & Peacekeeping Institution, United Nations Training Institute and the Nigerian Military School.
Between May 2013 and July 2013, he embarked on a project, named “Governance and Violent Conflicts in Nigeria: a Threat to National Development.
His volunteer works in the recent past were focused on Children, Civil Rights & Social Action, Disaster & Humanitarian Relief, Economic Empowerment, Education, Environment, Health, Human Rights Politics, Poverty Alleviation, Science & Technology and Social Services.
He did full professional proficiency courses in Nigerian military Security operations and management, at the University of Lagos, with an independent coursework on UN Peacekeeping Mechanism, as a Conflict Resolution Strategy, at the University of Essex and at the University of Western Cape South Africa.
His research work spans through governance and violent conflicts in Nigeria, threat to national development, the need for positive transformation Skills, Peace Studies, Conflict Studies, Strategic Partnerships, Business Strategy, Business Analysis, Property Management, Customer Service, Strategic Planning, Peace, Power Point, Public Speaking, Microsoft Word, Research Outlook and Windows,
His military trainings took him to several institutions where he obtained several military qualifications and awards, including, Graduate of Fort Benning Colombia Georgia USA, in Military technology. Member, International Peacekeeping Training Centre UK. Fellow, National War College Abuja-Nigeria. Fellow, Society for Peace Studies and Practice, Peace Operations Training Institute, Wellington, Virginia, US.A. United States Peace Institute, Washington, DC and Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
He also belongs to the following organisations: Nigerian Institute of Management, Society for Peace Studies & Practice and National Security Association.
Brig.Gen. Boroh (Rtd), has been Chairman, Criminologists/Security Practitioners Association of Nigeria, since March 1990. He is an expert in peace building and conflict resolution. He was the Commandant Peacekeeping, in the Nigerian military between 2010 and 2012 at Jaji, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
His interests span across management training/capacity building, new technologies, driving fishing and appreciating nature.
