Craft for Community Craft for Community is a project-based organization that connects travelers to their host community in meaningful and sustainable ways.

Trips that change the traveler. Craft for Community invites individuals and groups to experience Nicaragua through authentic projects that interact with our community. El Tránsito, Nicaragua, Nicaragua is a small fishing village on the Pacific Ocean. We aim to empower our community through projects that share visitor's skills and crafts in order empower our neighbors with the growing skills and ab

ilities to be successful in their daily lives. We offer Spanish lessons on site at our lodge and the opportunity for Spanish language immersion through our projects. By interacting with our community you will be actively engaging in a cultural exchange in the most authentic form. Our projects include but are not limited to the topics of education, town beautification, ecology, and the arts. We are open to working with you in order to develop a project that fits your needs. All program participants stay at our modern beach side lodge and we provide logistical support, meals, transportation and excursions.

Meet Giselle, our newest Spanish teacher! She was born and raised right in El Tránsito and is studying hospitality and tourism in university right now. She’s available for private and group lessons that focus on conversational practice. The best part? We believe in experiential learning, no classroom, take your lesson to a coffee shop in town and practice ordering, go talk with a fishermen about last night’s catch. The village is your classroom.
