🇳🇮 Energy, Ecology & Quality of Life — Nicaragua’s New Infrastructure
Continuing our series about Nicaragua’s new development projects 🌎
Nicaragua is embracing sustainable growth, where every initiative aims to improve quality of life while protecting the environment.
☀️ Solar Energy
In Masaya, the country’s largest solar power plant — Enesolar-3 — is under construction, with an investment of $83 million and a capacity of 70 MW.
By 2027, solar energy will supply up to 15% of Nicaragua’s total electricity.
🚰 Modern Water & Sanitation Systems
By 2026, more than $425 million will be invested in water supply and sanitation networks, improving conditions for over 1.1 million people in Managua, Matagalpa, Bluefields, and other cities.
🏠 Housing & Urbanization
The government is carrying out a large-scale affordable housing program:
▫️Goal: 150,000 homes
▫️Completed: 6,100
▫️Under construction: 3,400 in León
Each home (about 72 m²) is earthquake-resistant and part of a planned neighborhood with schools, roads, and clean water access.
📦 Logistics & E-Commerce
Thanks to investments in postal and logistics infrastructure, parcels now reach even rural areas within 72 hours, opening new doors for small business and exports.
💬 Solar energy, accessible housing, and modern communications are laying the foundation for a comfortable and safe lifestyle.
🌱 In a country blessed with sunshine almost all year round, solar energy is a smart and sustainable choice — that’s why we recommend solar panels for our clients’ homes as well. We fully support Nicaragua’s new wave of development! 😄
