Als blikken konden blozen, dan werd dit blik jouw Valentijn đź’š en dat is mooi! Want bij Baril maken we coatings en verven waar je niet alleen blij van wordt, maar ook beter van slaapt. We ontwikkelen en produceren veel duurzamere oplossingen: met minder impact op mens en milieu, zĂłnder in te leveren op kwaliteit en prestaties. Daar kun je alleen maar van houden, toch?

Bio MPA based industrial coating showcased with Brassto

Baril Coatings, Worlée Chemie, Relement and Shipcoat joined forces to turn innovation into reality. This partnership has successfully demonstrated a cutting-edge bio MPA based waterborne alkyd industrial coating in collaboration with Brassto (NL).

At the heart of this breakthrough alkyd coating is Relement’s launching product bio MPA (3-methylphthalic anhydride). Its slightly different molecular structure compared to fossil-based alternatives delivers improved performance without compromise. Incorporated into Worlée Chemie’s resin, it allowed Baril Coatings to create a waterborne alkyd coating that dramatically reduces hazardous substances, uses almost no solvents, and emits very low VOCs.

Brassto is a reliable partner in surface treatment, ISO and NACE certified. Brassto treats metal surfaces using various techniques. In this demo project several metal pipes were coated which soon will be in use in Rotterdam (NL) at a marketplace.

The demo project highlights how renewable chemistry can deliver high-performance industrial metal coatings without compromising durability or aesthetics. Partnerships like this are paving the way for a greener future in the coatings industry.

From starting as an R&D employee in 1998 to growing into the role of Technical Director, Joost has been at the heart of countless innovations, Baril’s growth, and our journey toward sustainability. 🌱
