🌟 Traveller Story: Carin and Her Mom's Amsterdam Adventure 🌟

"Thanks to AmsterdaMobile, Mom was able to join us on longer adventures, and we all felt safer and more able to get out and enjoy with the use of a rental manual wheelchair. The device was clean, slim, and folded up tight for small restaurants and elevators. Handlebars were adjustable, and could be used for supportive walking or riding. We were so grateful for this device!!"

Dutch clogs, known as "klompen," are more than just a souvenir: they are an icon of Dutch tradition and culture. 🌷

👉 Ancient origins: They date back to the 13th century when Dutch farmers wore them to protect their feet from wet and muddy fields. They were perfect for enduring the tough conditions of the countryside.

👉 Handcrafted: Each pair of clogs is carved from a single piece of wood, usually poplar or willow. Even today, there are craftsmen who keep this tradition alive! 🪵✂️

👉 National symbol: Although they are no longer worn daily, klompen are still a symbol of the Netherlands and are seen at cultural events and traditional festivals.

🎨 And did you know they were often decorated with colorful and intricate designs? Each region of the Netherlands had its own distinctive styles!

Fun fact: Dutch clogs have been listed as part of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage! 🏆
