⛳️ Exciting to play the new course at Cabot Highlands ‘Old Petty’. Although still very young the Tom Doak design should mature into one of the must courses when visiting the Highlands.

⛳️ Played the wonderful on beautiful sunny August day. The World’s oldest Inland course established in 1851. Designed by Old Tom Morris and George Sayers with later influences from James Braid. Build over sandy moorlands with superb firm & fast undulating fairways the course is a joy to play. One of 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 must play inland courses.

⛳️ Any year you get the opportunity to play twice in one season can’t be bad. In fact it doesn’t get much better! The 1st tee shot at Royal Dornoch is one of the more intimidating tee shots in golf. But nothing beats the way the course opens up in front of you when you walk around to the 3rd tee. Particularly special when the gorse is in bloom

⛳️ After a quiet year on Instagram, it’s time to catch up! Thinking back on my first year as a member at it’s been nothing short of amazing. It’s hard to put into words how much I have enjoyed my visits. What’s not to love about Nairn and links golf in general. Playing on firm & fast links turf, the classic out & back routing, the stunning views over the Moray Firth and the long vista’s to the Black Isle & Ben Wyvis. The sea air and the challenge of the championship links. That combined with a wonderful club and awesome staff it’s hard to beat. Roll on spring 2025 and more fun 🏌️‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

⛳️ On the last day of my Southern England trip I had the pleasure of playing Liphook Golf Club, a superb heathland course in the county of Hampshire. In my opinion close to or as good as any of the big name courses in Surrey. Well worth a visit.

⛳️ Amongst all the high profile heathland courses in Surrey, West Byfleet Golf Club flies a little bit under the radar. Although more parkland in style the John Abercrombie design has an extremely interesting routing and with more recent work by Mackenzie & Ebert the course looks very attractive aesthetically. Well worth a visit and a nice change of pace to all the heathland offerings in the area. A big thanks to Richard for is hospitality.

⛳️ one of Surrey’s most iconic clubs/ courses. Had been on my to do list for years and particularly was looking forward to playing the legendary 4th hole with its centre line bunker. John Low & Stuart Paton revolutionary and controversial attempt at strategic golf design. An amazing place and no better way to cap off the day with a pint and a sandwich on Woking’s fabulous veranda.

⛳️ Day 2 in Southern England at an extraordinary course unlike any I have ever seen. Massive in scale, big fairways, big bunkers, big greens and fairly undulating to boot. Reminded me a lot of Royal Melbourne especially the scale. It was a bit wet underfoot but still amazing experience. A big thanks to from for hosting me 🙏

⛳️ The quite splendid Rye Golf Club. Golf as it was meant to be, firm links turf, wind, interesting contours and of course plenty of 🐕 🐶 and long lunches. I love the mini railway sleepers to stop people from putting from outside the green. (See photo 4)
