Someone who we love to support in Amsterdam as their passion for the city and for capturing it through photography is infectious and inspiring 👍👌🙏

Amsterdam after dark has a character all of its own.

Neon reflections, glowing shopfronts, and people drifting through the streets as the city shifts from day to night.

What I love about scenes like this is the atmosphere. The mix of cool blue light and warm signs creates a mood that’s both cinematic and unmistakably urban—a fleeting moment that feels like it could belong in a film.

Street photography isn’t always about finding a dramatic subject. Sometimes it’s about capturing the feeling of a place and the stories unfolding within it.

There’s something truly magical about Amsterdam at sunrise.

The city is quiet, the canals are still, and the first light transforms familiar streets into something extraordinary.

A huge thank you to Nora for capturing these beautiful early morning moments and allowing us to share them. These photographs are a wonderful reminder that some of Amsterdam’s most breathtaking scenes happen before most of the city has even woken up.

Have you ever experienced Amsterdam at sunrise? We’d love to hear about it in the comments.

One of the things I never tire of in Amsterdam is the architecture.

Row after row of canal houses, each with its own character, yet together creating one of the most recognisable cityscapes in the world.

A wide-angle perspective like this gives a real sense of the scale and rhythm of the city, drawing your eye along the façades and revealing details you might otherwise miss.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have lived here for years, Amsterdam always seems to offer a fresh angle.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A recent review from one of our guests:

“The tour not only broadened my photographic perspective of Amsterdam but also taught me several valuable techniques.”

Thank you, Homer, for your kind words. It was a pleasure helping you explore Amsterdam through the lens, from the golden hour through to the blue hour and into the night.

One of the best parts of these tours is seeing photographers discover new ways of looking at the city while developing their skills along the way.

Some evenings, Amsterdam does all the work for you.

A quiet street, the last light of the day, and a lone cyclist heading home as the sun slips below the horizon.

These are the moments I love most—not the busy landmarks or the crowded squares, but the simple scenes that capture the rhythm of everyday life in the city.

Amsterdam has a way of turning even an ordinary journey home into something beautiful.

Amsterdam at night has its own kind of magic.

When the streets quieten and the canals become still, a different side of the city emerges. Reflections soften, lights shimmer across the water, and familiar places take on an entirely different character.

It’s one of the reasons we love photographing Amsterdam after dark. The energy of the day gives way to a sense of calm, and the city becomes a canvas of light, shadow, and reflection.
