A picture of the beautiful Woudagemaal, the steam pumping station which pumps thousands of liters of water from the canals in to the big lake, in order to keep the land in Friesland dry. If you have not visited this magnificant building (it's a UNESCO World Heritage site!), we advice you to book a tour with us.

A skûtsje is a wooden or steel Frisian tjalk built for the transport of freight in Friesland. Depending on the season, they transported manure, horses, potatoes and other bulk goods. The skipper and his family lived on board the skûtsje. Now the skûtsje sail in the summer competitions.

This is the middle of the Afsluitdijk. At the end is the Amsterdam Lake District. The d**e is 32.5 km long. On the left is the salt water of the Wadden Sea and on the right the fresh water of the IJsselmeer. Our tours stop at this tower.
