The sounds, the smells, the movement of the herds, the dust… The Great Migration is the year-round circular movement of wildebeest through the Serengeti and Maasai Mara.

The river crossings are part of this annual movement. Our guests captured this mass Mara River crossing in Kogatende, an impressive spectacle to witness.

These are the chimpanzees of Mahale, the sound of the group is intense!

Chimpanzees are our closest living relatives. Spending time with wild chimpanzees is a rare, special experience, one that stays with you long after you leave the forest. 🍃

Our guests this week up in the air, taking in the views of Serengeti during their flight. 🌅 
Floating over the plains in a hot-air balloon offers a completely different perspective on Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes. With breathtaking views stretching to the horizon and the sun rising over the savannah, it’s one of those safari experiences that stays with you long after you’ve landed.

Today is International Leopard Day 🐆
A moment to raise awareness for a species still under pressure from habitat loss and poaching.

Leopards move quietly, adapt endlessly, and survive where few others can, from dense forests to open savannas.

So lush and green 🍃is the Serengeti at this time of year! Recent photos and a review from guests who enjoyed a family safari at Serian’s Serengeti South by Alex Walker's Serian. This intimate mobile camp sits on the southern edge of the Serengeti’s short grass plains, perfectly positioned for the Great Migration from mid-December to May. 
What our guests shared about their stay: “The camp staff were equally excellent and were happy to entertain the children while we went on a walking safari one afternoon. We loved our game drives and also the stunning scenery, best seen from high up on the rocks where we had a sundowner drink while the children were able to scramble on the boulders.”

Last week, our guests enjoyed a family safari adventure at Serian’s Serengeti South by . An intimate mobile camp in Ndutu on the edge of the Serengeti’s short grass plains, perfectly positioned for the Great Migration this time of year. Green season is bringing new life, as millions of wildebeest and zebra gather for the birthing season, following the fresh grass 🌿 after the first rains.

Flying over the dunes from Windhoek to NamibRand Nature Reserve, the idea of a desert takes on a whole new meaning. From above, the earth reveals endless shades of orange and deep red, stretching as far as the eye can see. By the time the plane lands, it’s clear this is a special place. Geertje travelled to .

Wolwedans sits in the heart of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast stretch of desert in the southern Namib. It’s dry, hot and open, yet surprisingly full of life. Oryx and springbok move across the plains, sometimes joined by mountain zebra, giraffe or a black-backed jackal. Days are simple: walking, e-biking, watching the light change, looking up at a sky full of stars.
