The 14th July annually is International Non Binary People’s Day and is aimed at raising awareness of the issues that Non-Binary people face around the world. The day was first celebrated in 2012 on a date between International Men's Day and International Women's Day.

A non binary person is a person whose gender identity may not fit within the typical definitions of man or woman. A non-binary person may identify as trans and may use a wide range of pronouns outside that of he/him/his and she/her/hers Eg. They/them/theirs.

The International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and Intersexphobia, held annually on May 17, is a day on which LGBT organizations draw international attention to the phenomenon of homophobia and its social undesirability. The day is also known by the English abbreviation IDAHOT.

The date of May 17 is inspired by the fact that on that day in 1990 the World Health Organization (WHO) officially removed homosexuality from the internationally used list of diseases, the International Classification of Diseases. Until then, homosexuality was classified as a mental illness on that list.
