On the first Boat & Bike Tour through Egypt, it’s not just about admiring temples – it’s about experiencing history. Two weeks along the Nile, through villages, deserts, fields, and cities. The route opens a window into a country that tells its stories through stones, colors, and connections.

Greetings from our hostess Esmee on board the La Mar ⛴

☀ During the summer season, Esmee makes sure our guests feel well taken care of from the moment they step on board. Warm hospitality is especially important to her. Those small gestures make a big difference, like a friendly welcome after a long day of cycling or having a favorite drink ready and waiting.

🛥️ Over the course of an eight‑day journey, you really get to know one another, share meaningful conversations, and meet people from many different cultures. That’s only one of the reasons why Esmee loves her work on the ship so much.

❄ In the winter, she trades the deck for a desk and supports our team in our Amsterdam office.

She’s a truly valued part of our team: both on the water and on land. 🌊🗺💙

🌿 Krka National park – A natural paradise
Hidden in the heart of Croatia lies a true gem: Krka National Park. Since 1985, this breathtaking area has been under protection to preserve its unique beauty for future generations. Spanning around 110 km² (42 mi²), it offers a fascinating world of untouched nature, stunning waterfalls, and an incredible diversity of flora and fauna. 🌱
There’s plenty to do there too! Admire the 17 cascades of Skradinski Buk waterfall or see the highest waterfall in the park, Manojlovački Slap, at 60 meters or 197 feet high. Visit the 15th-century Krka Monastery and the Roman catacombs underneath it. Take a boat ride to tiny Visovac Island in Visovac Lake. If you’re more inclined to an active day, you can hike one of the many trails to a gorgeous view, kayak on the river, or, best of all, bicycle one of the bicycle routes in the park!
Whether you're hiking along emerald-green rivers, marveling at roaring waterfalls, or working up an appetite on a bike ride – Krka National Park is a place that enchants and inspires.

What do you do when your land is underwater? You design it. ✨

The Beemster Polder is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it's a perfect example of Dutch innovation. Once part of a lake, this area was drained using pumping windmills in the early 1600s, and then turned into a geometric masterpiece of farmland, canals, and tree-lined roads.
