What do you do when your land is underwater? You design it. ✨
The Beemster Polder is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it's a perfect example of Dutch innovation. Once part of a lake, this area was drained using pumping windmills in the early 1600s, and then turned into a geometric masterpiece of farmland, canals, and tree-lined roads. You’ll cycle through this living landscape on our Sail & Bike IJsselmeer or UNESCO Treasures Tour. It’s flat, peaceful, and full of quiet beauty, especially from the saddle of your bike: Dutch design, centuries ahead of its time. 🚴
