TravelBird had to apply for suspension of payments today
Unfortunately, TravelBird today had to stop selling online travel deals and file for a suspension of payments today after no new funding came in on time.
TravelBird is a member of the SGR, which means that trips booked via TravelBird are being covered within the terms of the guarantee scheme of SGR. Travellers that booked a trip with TravelBird will be contacted by SGR with further information.
TravelBird has grown explosively since its launch in 2010 and was profitable for the first time in the first half of 2018. Due to seasonal fluctuations, there has been a delay in payments to partners in recent months and TravelBird has actively sought additional financing. Unfortunately, that did not succeed in time.
In the past 8 years, TravelBird has been able to inspire more than 7 million travellers with often special and personal travel experiences. TravelBird is very grateful that all our travellers have chosen and trusted TravelBird all these years to travel around the world with us.
Thanks also to our intensely involved and respected 310 employees and partners who always worked so hard for our travellers.
