Every time I visit Lake Como, I tell myself, “Okay, this is the last time.”
And then somehow I end up coming back again. 😂
There’s just something about the lake, the little towns, the ferry rides, and those views that never gets boring.
So if Lake Como is on your Italy bucket list this summer, here’s the itinerary I usually recommend to friends and family.

It was a very hectic week for us, with so many things going on in life.
But today felt like the first proper sunny summer day in the Netherlands, so we stepped out to Amsterdam for a walk.

Walking near the beautiful canals, looking at the water, the evening sun, and just slowing down a little… it felt really nice.😊

I truly believe the place you stay becomes part of the trip itself.

Not every day needs to be luxury.
Not every hotel needs an infinity pool or a dreamy mountain view.

But on a 7–10 day trip, I’ve realized this:
book at least a few days somewhere that makes you slow down.

A place where you actually want to wake up early…
sit with a coffee…
watch the view for a while…
have long conversations with your partner or family…
or simply do nothing without feeling guilty.

Because travel is not only about running from one viewpoint to another, ticking places off a list.

Some of my favourite memories from places like Switzerland, New Zealand, and Mauritius were not even outside.
They were the slow mornings, cozy evenings, the views from the room, the calm, the feeling.

And somehow, those stays make the entire experience feel ten times more special.

Sometimes the room is the destination too.

We signed up for what we thought would be a “fun little ride”… and ended up flying through narrow canyons, spinning 360° and holding on for dear life 😅
For 25 minutes, it was pure adrenaline Honestly, one of those experiences you don’t fully understand until you do it.

If you’re planning a trip to New Zealand, this is called the Shotover Jet, and it costs around $200 NZD per person — and it’s 100% worth it.

I used to think Queenstown was just… hype.
You know when people keep calling a place “the most beautiful town in the world” and you’re like, okay sure.🙈

But then we landed, and something about it just felt… different.

The mountains quietly frame everything.
The lake sits there like it’s always known it’s beautiful.
Even from our apartment, the view didn’t try too hard—it just was.

We had our plans, but somehow the best parts were in between—
walking along the lake, pausing a little longer than expected,
noticing how every angle looked like a postcard.

Three days, three nights here… and it still felt like we were only just settling in.
If you come here, don’t rush it. Stay a little longer. Let it sink in.
