Before the cruise season began, the owners of Merlijn attended a fundraiser for the Dapper Kind Foundation, an organization dedicated to making hospital stays for long-term sick children more pleasant and positive.

Coen & Cristina donated a trip aboard Merlijn for the auction, and on our most recent cruise, the winners finally enjoyed their prize!

They had a wonderful journey along the Bavarian Danube, and we’re so happy that these generous bidders contributed to such a great cause. We wish them a safe journey home and perhaps we’ll see them again one day! 🚢✨

To most, just a strange wall beside the bike path and canal, but for us, a truly special spot! ✨

This marks the watershed divide between the Rhine and Danube rivers. Merlijn is now heading toward the Danube, made possible by the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, which lifts us up and over the hills.

Right on top of that hill stands this monument. It was a rainy day, perfect for demonstration: every raindrop falling to the right of the wall flows to the Rhine and the North Sea; every drop to the left makes its way to the Danube and eventually the Black Sea!

While Merlijn was moored in Cochem on the Moselle, some guests set out for an evening hike on one of the stunning local trails! ✨

It was quite a trek, but the views were absolutely breathtaking. (Hiking boots 🥾 recommended!)
