BEAUTIFUL crochet pattern by Nurturing Fibres

Our latest pattern is aptly called The 'Every Trunk has One' Blanket. It makes me think of a special time spent in Graaf Reinet.

Like most people I learnt to crochet by making granny square blanket.
We were visiting Karl's maternal grans house in Graaf Reinet and I admired the couches we were sitting on. Karl's gran had covered them all in crochet, they were so retro and exciting.
I was inspired.
Karls mom, seeing my interest, picked up a crochet hook and taught me. It was very precious to have that time with her and to learn the skill.
Oh and from there on, every dorp we traveled through I looked for yarn so that I could add more squares to my blanket.😂😂😂

I would love to hear your granny square blanket memories.

This colourful version was made by Doortjie Gerbach.
She is incredibly inspiring.
She travels to the remote areas of South Africa and Namibia teaching crochet and sharing her love of colour.
