This week we visited our partners from Agroplant Iraq branche in Erbil, Iraq. We have visited several farmers with our variety Actrice.

Also we visited 1 trialfield with our new varieties Abalone, (fresh market) Taylor (crisping market) and Baroque (french fries) and 2 new numbers for the future. Looking forward to the final results at harvesting time in 3 to 4 weeks.

Metro Potato Crop – Season 2026 – Libya
We are pleased to share these images of the Metro potato crop – Season 2026, successfully cultivated in Libya by our exclusive agent, Al Raya for Agricultural Production Company. The crop was specifically planted by Al Raya in a dedicated trial field owned by the company.

This crop reflects the strong collaboration between Agroplant and its partners, as well as the high standards applied throughout the cultivation process. The results demonstrate excellent quality and performance, meeting the expectations required for both fresh consumption and processing purposes.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Al Raya for Agricultural Production Company for their continuous efforts, professionalism, and commitment to achieving outstanding agricultural results.

Last weeks we visited several markets in Northern Africa to see our trialfields and visit some commercial fields from our varieties. Allways a good period to see the local market situation and to make plans together for the future.

This week we visited Egypt to see our varieties and trials. All planted for seed potatoes for the wintercrop.
Possitive results for our varieties Baroque, Hind, Metro and Taylor (crisping). Also some promissing new numbers for the future. Looking forward to visit early 2027 to see the results from the wintercrop.

During the last weeks we have planted several trialfields in Holland and France, next week all trial fields will be planted. Beside these trials the planting of minitubers from our varieties has also been completed.

Most of the commercial seed potato fields are planted under very good conditions, so crop 2026 is on the way. At the moment it is very dry in Holland, coming period we will find out how the growing season will be. Some rain would be welcome.

Last week our productmanagers Wouter & Thomas did the last seasonal tests for
crisping and french fries at Fobek in Friesland. In this way we have a good opinion
about the quality after long term storage.

Good results and some promissing varieties for the future.

Kyra is a red variety with a nice skin finish and high resistance against common scab, virus, nematodes and erwinia. Kyra is a grower friendly variety for the future which requires low input.
