Localife Tours vroeg een local, Laurens(26), wat hij de fijnste plek vindt in Nijmegen. Dit is wat hij zei: “Als ik in Nijmegen loop voel ik de spanning uit mijn lichaam glijden. De gemoedelijke sfeer, waar de natuur en stad elkaar omhelzen. De plek waar ik het liefst kom om inspiratie op te doen en te genieten is het Valkhofpark. Hier bevindt zich een mooie combinatie van rust en historie. Hier zie je stelletjes samen knuffelen, stadsbewoners gewapend met een boek en de sportieveling die zijn dagelijkse Tai Chi ritueel komt bedrijven. Hier en daar komen wat mensen langs die wat foto’s schieten. Het park bevindt zich vlakbij het centrum maar door de omheining van bomen heerst er een ontspannen sfeer. Valkhof is de plek die me verwelkomt als ik op mezelf wil zijn. Iedereen is hier welkom."

Localife Tours asked a local, Laurens(26) what his favorite place in Nijmegen is. This is what he answered: "When I walk through the city of Nijmegen, I feel the tension slipping away out of my body. The friendly atmosphere where nature and city come together. The place that I like the most to search for inspiration and joy is the Valkhofpark. Here you will find a good combination of peace and history. You will find couples cuddling here, inhabitants companied by books for reading and daily sporters who enjoy a Tai Chi training in the park. Sometimes people will come by taking pictures. The park is located close to the center, a fence of trees blocks the rush from the city and creates a relaxed atmosphere. Valkhof is a place that welcomes me when I want to be on my own. Everyone is welcome there."

Het leek zomer te worden in Nijmegen; bloemen staan in bloei, bomen zijn groen, terrasjes zitten vol, het zonnetje schijnt. Hoe veranderlijk het weer in Nederland is dat is weer bewezen, wisselvalligheid ten top; 10 graden kouder dan gister. Wintertruien kunnen weer uit de kast!

It seemed like summer was finally coming; flowers are flourishing, trees are turning green, terraces are crowded, the sun is shining. The weather in the Netherlands changeable; today's temperature is 10 degrees colder than yesterday. Time to get your warm jumpers again!

Een hele goede morgen. De 50e liker, Merit Vrieling, mocht een onderdeel kiezen die sowieso in de tour op 19-05 wordt bezocht: het Valkhofpark. Een mooi groen stukje in het centrum waar veel van de stadshistorie nog te zien is in de vorm van ruïnes. Misschien leuk om te weten is dat dit park het oudste park van Nijmegen is en dat het ernaar vernoemde Valkhof Museum er vlak naast ligt. Een bezoekje waard dus.

Good morning. The 50th liker, Merit Vrieling, had the right to choose a part of the tour of the 19th of May: the Valkhofpark. A beautiful piece of nature in the centre of the city, where historical ruines can be found. Might be good to mention that this park is the oldest park in Nijmegen and the famous Valkhof Museum is renamed after the park and is located next to it. Worth the visit.

Localife Tours kreeg de vraag wie Localife Tours is en wie de tours organiseert. Dit lijkt me een goed moment om mezelf even voor te stellen; mijn naam is Sara. Ik ben een geboren en getogen Nijmeegse. De passie voor de stad Nijmegen is er al jong in gekomen en nu wil ik die passie graag delen met anderen. Vandaar dat ik het lokale Nijmeegse leven wil weergeven door middel van Localife Tours door Nijmegen waarbij je de stad leert kennen door de ogen van een local. Wil je meer weten, vraag het gerust!
