Experience of a lifetime through Duin Deluxe Travel. Highly recommended!!!
The first time my partner and I met Petra of Duin Deluxe Travel was on a Holiday Expo in the Netherlands. I think it was in 2020. We had a good feeling about her that we requested her to arrange for us a roadtrip in Namibia. Unfortunately that trip was canceled due to Covid pandemic.
Fast forward to 2024, we decided to pick up our desire to visit Southern Africa.
It took almost a year of planning between Petra and myself but she superbly organized and implemented our wishes from start to finish. There were multiple modifications to our travel plans but she patiently and promptly responded to my inquiries about the trip.
So finally, in September-October 2025, our group of 4 went on an amazing trip to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The trip was an unforgettable experience from start to finish and a memory for life.
Petra\'s personal attention from day 1 up to the last day was superb! The accommodations she chose for us were beautiful and stunning! The transfers went smoothly. The staff became friends. The places we visited, excursions she booked, the safaris....Everything was perfect!
In Namibia, after climbing Dune 45 and visiting Deadvlei, our driver/guide brought us to a place under an old camel thorn tree for a picnic lunch. I thought it will only be sandwiches. But no way! There was a uniformed chef and his assistant waiting for us with a whole lot of food to choose from. Appetizers, salads, all kinds of meat to be grilled, bottles of red and white wine, different drinks, desserts....the whole nine yards! It was so decadent! After our chi chi lunch, we asked our guide Maria and the amazing staff to teach us their local dance. So there we were, laughing and dancing like crazy with them. Unforgettable!!!
My birthday coincided with our stay in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.
After dinner, the staff unexpectedly came out singing a birthday song for me, with a beautiful birthday cake that I shared with other guests. I don\'t usually celebrate my birthday, especially when Im travelling, but it was a great surprise, and I was really happy with the gesture.
Then again, another birthday cake was awaiting for me in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. In addition to that, there was a dinner treat for our group, courtesy of Duin Deluxe Travel!!! Again, I was touched!
I thought that was it, the celebrations over. However, on our last safari day in Greater Kruger, South Africa, the whole staff came out with a lovely birthday cake!!! They were singing and dancing for me, with drums !!! Spontaneously we joined the staff dancing - so much fun and laughter! Another unforgettable experience!
I never had so many birthday cakes to celebrate before. Truly what an experience I\'ll never forget. And all of this courtesy of Petra!!!!
When we arrived home, there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Duin Deluxe Travel. How sweet is that!
