5th of May. Not only full on touring season (normally), but also Liberation Day in Netherlands. That means this is tradionally our most busy day of the year. All our vans would be driving, some even double duty. On top of that at least the double amount of vans via our much appreciated partner Diks Autoverhuur. Long European tours by international artists, but also Dutch bands crossing Netherlands to play the Liberation Day festivals or other events. Every year we would be on several jobs ourself, and would have additional drivers/crew/TM's driving/working for us. Not this year... nothing, zero vans are driving today. We miss this busy day. And I know it's not only us missing this day. We think about all other van rentals, artists, drivers, tour managers, booking agents, music journalists, pr agents, festival crew, stage managers, A/V engineers, artist managers, backline rentals, merchandisers, merchanise companies, music distributers, venue reps, festival organisers, promoters, all of you involved in this great music scene. We miss you. And we hope to work together soon again! Of course we still appreciate our freedom, 75 years without war in Netherlands (and most of Europe). At the same time war is still out there, at many places at this world including Europe, which makes renting 0 vans out today for us is just the tiniest problem on world scale. We think about those people there. Those people in warzones who only can dream about being a performing artist or working in music business. Working in music business is surely a privilage This corona crisis does make that very clear to us privilaged. Take care of each other, close to you, and far away from you.
