🇮🇸 Iceland is a very special place to us. Not only because it’s a beautiful country, but it is the place we have got engaged. Hence this inaugural post of Our Gay Journeys is dedicated to Iceland.

A land of breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and progressive values, is also celebrated for its inclusive and thriving LGBTQ+ community. The gay life in this Nordic island nation is a testament to the country's commitment to equality and acceptance. Yes, we have enjoyed some drinks and drag shows at and we know it’s not perfect, but Henk and I had definitely a great time traveling in the country. We have enjoyed plenty of pools and the outdoors.

One of the most striking aspects of gay life in Iceland is its inclusivity. The country has long been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ rights, becoming the first nation to elect an openly gay head of state in 2009. This progressive attitude extends to all facets of Icelandic society, creating a welcoming environment for individuals of all sexual orientations willing to visit the country. Some of that we could observe traveling around the ring 1. Is the smallest towns, we came across to a farm with a rainbow roof, rainbow colored churches, stairs and also permanent rainbow painting on the cross street. It’s not a big gay scene, but the summer gay pride in summer and the gay bear price called Bears on Ice is definitely a sign of vibrant community.

The LGBTQ+ community in Iceland is supported by a network of organizations and resources dedicated to promoting equality and providing support. From advocacy groups like , the National Q***r Organization, to LGBTQ+ friendly spaces and businesses, there is a strong sense of solidarity and belonging within the community. These organizations play a vital role in advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, offering support services, and fostering a sense of community among members.

To conclude, we definitely recommend a trip to Iceland. Find ways to support the pink businesses. We did use the services of for the trip.

Love,
M&H
