The Zaanse Schans is a residential area in which the 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life. Stroll past the bakery museum and enjoy the smell of fresh cookies, or take a look at the warehouse where clogs are made. You should be sure not to miss the cheese factory, pewter foundry and the various windmills. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops. Make a cycling or sailing trip, browse the shops or treat yourself at the pancake restaurant. A day out at the Zaanse Schans in North Holland is fun and educational.

There are places that somehow manage to get under your skin, even though you don’t really know them all that well. Bruges is that kind of place. A warm and friendly place, a place made for people. A city whose history made it great, resulting in a well-deserved classification as a Unesco World Heritage site.

The SS Rotterdam was completed during the final years of transatlantic crossings and was among the finest ocean liner ever built. The ship is steeped in history and ferried many famous figures during its time upon the seas. In 2000, the SS Rotterdam finally retired after over 40 years of services and has since been converted into a luxurious hotel that is permanently moored in Rotterdam’s harbour.
