🐧 See puffins in Runde but have no car? No problem.

Here is a solution on how to go from Ålesund to Runde to experience the puffins this summer:

All in one package: Travel by express boat from Ålesund to Hareid and continue by coach to Runde on a scenic drive across bridges from one island to another. Learn more about the island's remarkable birdlife, and sit down to a warm dinner before heading towards the famous bird cliffs with a nature guide.

The guided walk takes you through dramatic coastal scenery to one of Norway's most extraordinary wildlife experiences. Here, thousands of seabirds gather during summer, including the beloved puffins that make Runde famous.

Enjoy the view, and watch the birds before returning to Ålesund.

🛥️ Departure from Ålesund: 3:30 pm
🐧 Guided puffin safari
🍲 Dinner included
🌅 Return to Ålesund: 11:15 pm

A summer evening you'll be talking about long after the puffins has left the island in early August.

Kristiansund punches above its weight culturally. Here’s why:
The city sits on four islands connected by bridges and the world’s oldest public ferry – and somehow it has also managed to build one of the most impressive cultural calendars in Norway.

🎭 Norway’s oldest opera – has been staging performances since 1928. Not in Oslo. Here, on the Atlantic coast.
🏛️ Normoria – the city’s new cultural centre, opened in 2025. A proper stage for a city that has always deserved one.
📸  – one of the most distinctive photography festivals in the Nordic region, running 15–25 May. World-class photographers, exhibitions, talks and late evenings in good company.
🎵 Festspillene i Kristiansund – a week of music, dance and theatre spread across the city, 9–13 September. Intimate venues, big names and a programme that surprises every year.

And this is just some of it. The programme spills out of concert venues and into churches, wharfs and streets - culture finds its way into every corner of the city.

After all that culture? Go find a portion of fishan. You’ll understand when you get there 😁

🎉The earliest opening of Trollstigen in history!
🚗The Trollstigen road, part of the Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger–Trollstigen, is set to open for the season already on Monday 27 April at 12:00!
The full stretch between Valldal and Åndalsnes will be ready for traffic, marking a record-breaking early opening.

👀Up in the mountains, winter is still holding on. Snow lines the road, and new snowfalls might still come, so make sure your car is properly equipped for the conditions and check with the road services before you start driving.
⬇️See link in comments under for more information and contact information to the road services.

🎊The road from Geiranger to Djupvasshytta has also reopened and we are just waiting for the last stretch Geiranger-Langvatn and for the road to Geiranger Skywalk - Dalsnibba to open soon. Then the whole Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger-Trollstigen will be open for the season.

Have you ever been driving The Trollstigen road? And how was it?🏔️✨
