Did you know that the restaurant on top of Mount Fløyen is more than 100 years old? 😍

One of the most frequent questions we're asked is: What is a fjord?👩🏻‍🏫

✔️A fjord is a long, narrow sea inlet with steep cliffs or mountains on both sides. It was formed when a glacier carved out a deep U-shaped valley that later filled with ocean water.

✔️The longest Norwegian fjord is Sognefjorden, measuring an impressive 205 kilometers.

✔️In Norway you can actually find more than 1000 fjords throughout the country.

Bryggen in Bergen📍

The very first buildings in Bergen were situated at Bryggen, as early as the 11th century. In 1360, the German Hanseatic League set up one of its import and export offices at Bryggen, dominating trade for almost 400 years.

To stroll through the narrow alleyways and overhanging galleries is to step back into the mists of time and a bygone era.

Bryggen has been ravaged by many fires, the great fire of 1702 in particular. It reduced the whole of the city to ashes. The area was rebuilt on the foundations that had been there since the 12th century.
