BERGEN FISH MARKET 🐟🇳🇴

Most visitors come to Bergen Fish Market for the salmon. These are the 5 foods you didn’t expect to find:

• Whale Meat: Typically served grilled, pan-fried, or cured. It has a rich flavor often compared to beef or game meat.
• King Crab: Usually served steamed or boiled and enjoyed with melted butter. The sweet, tender meat is found inside its enormous legs.
• Reindeer & Moose Sausage: A taste of the Norwegian wilderness, often smoked or cured and served as a snack or in sandwiches.
• Stockfish: Cod that has been naturally air-dried for months. It can be eaten as a snack, rehydrated and cooked in traditional dishes, or enjoyed as part of local specialties.
• Fish Roe: Often served on bread, crackers, or with seafood dishes. Its salty, briny flavor makes it a popular delicacy across Norway.

Last week Janine had a group from the UK 🇬🇧 and USA 🇺🇸. They witnessed this huge sailing boat from the Cayman Islands 🇰🇾 docked in Vågen, in@the entre of Bergen. The boats name is Aquarius and two of Janine’s guests had their sun in the sign of Aquarius!

To the right you can see the Rosenkrantz tower, renovated in the 1550s. The original tower, which is still inside, was built in 1270!

During the tour, they managed to get three small concerts as part of the culture festival currently going on in Bergen - two were between the food stops, and one was right inside the funicular while going up to Floyen 😍
