📍 Where the road is the destination and the adventure.
🚗 The Atlantic Road – Bridges arc and dip across open sea, waves crashing right beside the tarmac. Pure dramatic scenery in between cute houses and villages.
🌀 Trollstigen – Eleven hairpin turns climb through the mountainside, with waterfalls thundering alongside every bend and spectacular viewing platforms on top.
🦅 Eagle Road (Ørnevegen) – The switchbacks continue on the other side, unwinding toward Geiranger with sweeping views back over the UNESCO World Heritage fjord.
🌊 Geiranger Skywalk, Dalsnibba – Step onto a platform with an iron grid floor and glass railing, 1,500 meters above sea level – Europe's highest fjord view reachable by road.
🐟 Veiholmen, Smøla– A living fishing village at the very edge of the Atlantic, linked to the mainland by a road that hops across skerries on bridges and breakwaters – an adventure in itself.
🐦 Runde – Norway's southernmost major bird cliff, home to hundreds of thousands of seabirds each summer, puffins included.
From fjord to mountain, village to bird cliff, the road here isn't just a way to get somewhere. It's the whole point.
