🐐🥾 Last chance to experience one of our favourite summer adventures!

August is the final month to join our FjordSafari & Goat Farm Hike before the goats and milkmaids leave the summer farm for another season.
This tour combines a thrilling FjordSafari, a guided mountain hike and a visit to a traditional Norwegian summer farm, where you’ll enjoy a homemade lunch while learning about one of Western Norway’s oldest living traditions.

The centuries-old practice of transhumance (seterdrift), moving livestock to mountain summer farms, has recently been recognised on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, helping preserve this unique cultural tradition for future generations.

📬 Every place has a story. Some are simply better told by the people who know it best.

At FjordSafari, we believe that great guiding starts with genuine local knowledge. That’s why we regularly take our guides out to meet the people who have shaped the history of the fjords.

This time, we visited Styvi, where we met Bjørn Henning and learned how life was for the farmers living in the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord.

The more we learn, the more we can share with our guests. And that’s what guiding is all about.

Many guests see our boats and imagine something closer to white-water rafting. Lots of speed, water spraying everywhere, and being thrown from side to side.
The reality is very different.

While our boats are capable of speed, comfort and accessibility are at the heart of every FjordSafari experience. That’s why we use RBB boats designed for stability and comfort, rather than traditional RIBs.

We also use regular seats instead of saddle seats, making our tours suitable for a wide range of guests, including children, seniors, pregnant travellers, and guests requiring wheelchair access 💙

Whether you’re 4 or 100, our goal is the same: helping you experience the fjords safely and comfortably.

Our Waterfall Hike & Stegastein Viewpoint tour is now also available as an afternoon departure.
Enjoy the same scenic journey with a visit to the famous Stegastein Viewpoint and a guided hike to beautiful Turlifossen, all while learning about the history, nature, and life around the fjords from one of our local guides 🌿🏔️
