Did you know that we have player from Hammerfest in the Norwegian National Football Team?⚽️

Marcus Holmgren Pedersen (25) got his World Cup dubut and scored his first WC goal against Senegal in June, and we are SO SO PROUD of our Arctic Viking! ❄️⚔️

He is also the northernmost born player to ever participate in the World Cup.

Norway has made it to the quarter finals, and will face England on Saturday July 11th. Are you in Hammerfest at that time and want to see the match?

Here are your public options:
1. Hammerfest Municipality are broadcasting the match at our biggest theatre stage Arktisk kultursenter. This is a free event for all ages, where no alcohol is allowed.
2. Slakteriet.live releases 120 tickets to their big screen showing on Monday 06.07 18:00. It will sell out quickly. Tickets include one drink and access to an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet.
3. Our local pubs Kaikanten Hammerfest and Banjern underneath Thon Hotel Hammerfest will also show the match on big screens with free entrance. Show up early if you want to secure a seat, both pubs will be loaded!

The reindeers are gracing around Hammerfest every summer. Have you heard about the guidelines called «Reinvettreglene» that you should follow if you meet reindeers in "the wild" (including in Hammerfest)? One of the most important rule to know is to always keep your dog at a leach 🦌🦌🦮

Today, or should we say tonight, the sun did not set - which marked the beginning of the midnight sun season ☀️ From now on, we will have 24 hours of brightness until the sun sets again in the end of July.
