We recently had the absolute pleasure of hosting a very special guest at the farm.

Michael is a film maker from Berlin and brings a wealth of storytelling experience to his work, having worked for 20 years as a journalist for the German public broadcaster ARD, followed by another 20 years managing his own film company. After retiring in 2024, he decided to hit the road with his camper van to travel, explore, and film stories that truly inspire him. 🌍

Currently traveling across Europe, Michael spent 14 days living with us here at Innset to capture the rhythm of life on the husky farm. 🐕✨

Now Hiring: Dog Handlers for our training season! 🍂
Want to spend your fall making memories with our pack? Innset is looking for enthusiastic individuals to support our team during the vital fall training season.
From September to mid-December, you will play a huge role in getting our huskies in peak physical condition for the winter tours ahead. It’s hard, hands-on, incredibly rewarding work with an amazing pack of dogs.
Who we are looking for:
- Animal lovers who enjoy physical outdoor work (rain or shine!)
- Team players who want to experience life on a traditional husky farm
- Availability for the full season (Sept - mid-Dec)

Dream of spending your fall surrounded by a pack of huskies?
We are officially looking for 1–2 passionate people to join our fall dog training team at Innset from September to mid-December.
This isn’t just a job, it’s a complete immersion into the rhythm of a working husky farm. As the leaves change and the air cools, the real work begins to get our pack ready for the upcoming winter season.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working closely with our huskies every # day.
- Helping with daily training runs and building the dogs‘ conditioning.
- Caring for the pack, feeding, and handling.
- Supporting the team with general farm work to keep things running smoothly.
If you love being out in nature, aren’t afraid of a little mud and hard work, and want to learn the ins and outs of dogsledding from an experienced team, we want to hear from you!

We recently had the absolute pleasure of hosting a private dinner event at the farm, and our kitchen went all-out to showcase the best of the valley.

While the video only captures the opening act, the entire menu was a love letter to our backyard. Take a look at what was on the table:

🐟 Hors d’oeuvres: A trio of sourdough blinis served with herbed quark (herbs fresh from our garden) topped three ways with local Arctic char: smoked, pickled, and fresh roe — all sourced directly from the lake here in our valley.

🥩 Main Course: Slow-roasted pork from our very own farm-raised pigs, served with buttered potatoes and a crisp green salad picked straight from the garden patch.

🧡 Dessert: A creamy Panna Cotta topped with wild cloudberries (multebeeren) that we hand-foraged in the surrounding marshes last autumn.

Summer at Innset isn’t just about the trails; it’s about tasting the landscape. Whether we’re cooking for our daily guests or hosting a special private gathering, honest, homegrown food is always the heart of the evening.

If you watch a typical husky near water, they’ll usually treat it like a lava pit. To an Arctic sled dog, open water usually spells danger.
Beyond the risk of a wet coat freezing in the wind, huskies carry a deep, ancestral fear of breaking through the ice. For centuries, their survival depended on reading the frozen trails perfectly. A dog that couldn’t sense weak ice or stepped into freezing water risked their life and the safety of the whole team. That instinct to avoid open water or soft, wet surfaces is practically written into their DNA...But then there’s Lykke. 😂
She clearly missed the memo about ancestral ice trauma and decided she’s actually a Labrador this summer. When the mountain sun hits the lake at Innset, she just can’t resist a good splash!
Does anyone else have a husky who thinks they’re a water dog, or is Lykke just special? 🌊🐕

Today, the red, white, and blue is flying high at the Huskyfarm Innset. We’re sending a huge ”Gratulations“ to all Norwegians around the world!
Did you know that Norway is actually a relatively young country? For centuries, we were the junior partner in unions with Denmark and then Sweden. It wasn’t until 1905 that we fully stepped out on our own as a sovereign nation.
Today is a celebration of that independence, our constitution, and the incredible landscape we are lucky enough to call home.
Hurra for 17 mai! 🥂🍦

There is a specific kind of peace that comes with summer in the North. It’s the feeling of walking a husky through an endless landscape where the sun never sets and the world feels wonderfully remote.
This is where we’ll be spending our „office hours“ in just a few months. Care to join us? 🥾🐾

Our endless playground is about to turn green, and we can’t wait.
