Today I was supposed to show four wonderful women from Argentina a little piece of Lofoten… 🇳🇴🇦🇷

Reine, Hamnøy, Sakrisøy, Å, Henningsvær, dramatic skies, lots of laughter – and even bare feet in the Arctic water. 😂🌊

But somewhere along the way, the roles changed a little.

They introduced me to a beautiful part of their culture: mate. 🧉

They explained how it is prepared, how it is shared, and invited me to be part of their little ritual. I had never tried it before – and by the end of the day, I had been offered mate twice. ❤️

This is one of the things I love most about guiding. I get to show people the place I call home, but sometimes my guests bring a little piece of their home to me too.

Today Lofoten met Argentina. 🇳🇴🤝🇦🇷

And what a beautiful, funny and unforgettable day it was.

Hidden among the moss and pine trees, I found one of nature’s greatest treasures… 🍄

In Norway we call it steinsopp. Around the world it’s known as porcini – one of the most delicious wild mushrooms you can find.

Moments like this remind me why I love the forests of Norway.

Some days stay with you forever.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of guiding an incredible group of 42 guests from India through the Lofoten Islands.

We shared stories, laughter, beautiful landscapes, learned words from each other’s languages, took countless photos together, and by the end of the day it felt like saying goodbye to friends rather than guests.

One of the ladies gave me her own necklace as a gift, and another placed a beautiful bindi on my forehead to match my dress. It was such a touching gesture that I will always remember.

Thank you for your warmth, your curiosity, your kindness and your smiles. It was an honour to spend this beautiful Lofoten day with you.

I hope to visit India one day… until then, Lofoten will always be waiting for you. ❤️🇮🇳🇳🇴
