Visit Helgeland, the heart of the Arctic Circle region. The nature in this area has birthed several myths, like the Helgeland Myth:

"It is said that long before people arrived in Helgeland, trolls were the masters of this region. Two rivaling troll kings ruled the area, Vågakallen in Lofoten, and The Sulis King in the mountains.

One warm summer night The Sulis King’s eight daughters went for a swim in the ocean. Their laughter and singing were heard by Vågakallen’s son. When he saw the oldest daughter, Lekamøya, he was enchanted by her beauty. He galloped towards the girls, and they fled. Lekamøya was the fastest.

Filled with lust during this bright summer night, Vågakallen’s son fired an arrow towards her, just before the first ray of sunlight turned them all into stone."
